just curious.. question for the accord upgraders

other than better drive and your jealous friends... what's the difference b/w the honda and bmw? i never owned a honda so don't really know. used to drive nissan.

Drive
Honda < BMW (Due to RWD, almost 50-50 balance and damn heavy steering)

Comfort
Honda < BMW (Comparing stock to stock suspensions)

Boot space
BMW < Honda (Nothing much to say, i even find the F10 boot smaller than Euro R)

Engine
BMW < Honda (K20A more agressive and fuel economy is better due to the I-Vtec, GOD I MISS THE K20A I-Vtec ROAR!!)

To be frank, I switched to bimmer coz I did not wish to pay ridiculously high insurance premiums for the Euro R and I always wanted to try out the smooth inline 6 engine 8)

PS: No jealous friends as most of whom I know has upgraded to S3s and E60s

Re: E90 / E92 Wear and Tear Thread

Wats the hp/torque rating for the K20A engine you had? I searched wikipedia n there's so many variants. Looks like the power rating is similar to the BMW 2L 4pot N46 engine! Very impressive. As the compression ratio increases, the hp rating is crazy!

I'm not sure if the Honda has taller final drive than equivalent BMWs (320i + N46 2.0L) giving it a more aggressive drive.

Euro R shares the K20A engine with most of the Type R siblings,
1,998 cc (1.998 L; 121.9 cu in), 220 PS (160 kW; 220 hp) @8000, 206 N·m (152 lb·ft) @6000:
2002-2008 JDM Honda Accord Euro-R CL7

N46 is no where near. :chinese:

Btw it has one of the best 6 speed manual transmission IMHO

Re: E90 / E92 Wear and Tear Thread

I was on 3 K20As before, frankly speaking, they really rule the NA category. No one squeezes out 225HP on a 2L Block.

Anyway, I just got my car 1 month plus back, Other than one servicing, i didn;t notice much wear and tear. will continue to monitor.. How is your FC?

Re: E90 / E92 Wear and Tear Thread

But for 220hp the compression is really high! Needs premium grade fuel...

Re: E90 / E92 Wear and Tear Thread

Usually the bhp/hp shown on the spec of a Japs car is different.. After dyno, many will realise minus approx. 10% down from the actual spec.

Hi, since it is still under warranty, i suggest you call PML to inform them about the change of ownership. I'm sure they will gladly advise you on the maintenance history of the car.

Best is you are required go direct to PML counter to show them document proof like log card & your IC... and at the same, they will do an update of their records that you are the new owner.

As for service history, the last time I was paid $150 for a full print-out, but not sure you need to as your car is still under their warranty.
