My turn to kena....pui

Was away 10 days for vacation..when approaching my E90... saw a big pool of liquid beneath the car... touch it and found it to be very oily.. . Start the car n check oil level... game over... it was barely one notch above empty.
And before that.. it was full..

Time to see car doctor liao...hope the damage to be

Re: E90 engine oil leak experience

That's sounds like a very bad leak..... Get it sorted out as quickly as possible. Oil leaks are usually small matters - change gasket here, replace seal there and usually no problem after that. But running an engine low on oil is potentially disastrous!

If that is true, that is what I call a BMW specialist, instead of unscrupulous salesman.
Can PM contact?

Yes, I've been using them for awhile now. Never ever had a hint of trying to upsell me anything more than what is necessary. They are BMW specialists indeed! So specialised that when I took my friend in his Renault Megane there, they were kinda unfarmiliar with it... hahaha... So eventually, my friend went to another workshop instead. Not that they were no good - they were just being honest.

Many of the bros here will know that my car had a severe oil leak some time back and I went back a few times to the agent to get it fixed without avail. 1L per day and it was a horrendous experience. I turned to Rod for help and he fixed my car in a few hours what the agent couldn't do in weeks. Aside from the oil leak, he also rectified in 5 minutes what another electrical workshop couldn't fix in two days.

To OT from this thread, their knowledge is solid and their attitude is sincere and honest. They are a small outfit and perhaps you spoke to them at a busy time (was it iDrive or something?). But hey, I think Rod is a really swell guy and I enjoy each and every trip at R2D knowing that my ride is in the best of hands.

I can't vouch for Rod as I've not personally used him. But over and over again, I've been hearing nothing but good things about him. So I believe that probably was an isolated incident? Maybe he kanna PMS that day? Com'on! We all have our own bad hair days too, don't we? =)

Re: E90 engine oil leak experience

Dear Bros,

Need help! It's regards to the engine oil error code I've been experiencing every week. Every 5 days to 1 week the engine oil logo will just flashed out.

Sent to dealer workshop to diagnose, popped up the bonnet.. no oil leak detected at the engine bay. Therefore the mechanic ask me to try a better thicker engine oil as my ride is 2005 mileage abt 180,000km. Previous owner already did an engine overhaul as told to me by the dealer.

After a week changing to the better thicker engine oil, the same problem arise, the EO logo flash out again. So I went back to the workshop again. This time round they changed the oil slump gasket to fix up all minor leaked as well as coolant, transmission oil.

After a week, same thing happened again.. The EO logo popped up again. I did my own EO top up..

The EO logo just keep popping every 5 days to 1 week...

What could be the main problem? Can't be topping up the engine oil every 5 days..

Please advice... Any solution that can stop this EO Issue? Really appreciate it very much.

Could be the valve seal harden up. I used to have this problem last time. After replacing the valve seals and the valve cover gasket. So far, there's no problem with engine oil. Prices for the repair can vary and costly. But you should try finding your dealer again if there's an internal liability period.

Re: E90 engine oil leak experience

Re: E90 engine oil leak experience

Dear All,

I seem to have this problem but mine will pop up every once a month to ask me to top up engine oil. I have change almost all possible things

1) Oil Filter Housing O ring 1
2) Oil Filter Housing O ring 2
3) Valve Gasket Cover
4) Valve Tronic Gasket

I have the my car check by mechanic, they claims that engine is eating oil with no apparent leak. I presume the next step is engine overhaul, but I think it is cheaper to added engine oil for the next 2 years than going for engine overhaul. Any other advise as I have spend around 2K trying to sort the problem

How about the engine valve seals? You could go JB to do the repair.. Parts buy in Sg.. Won't cost much.. Refer to Aaron's thread.. It worked for me
