F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

haha..i still have the option to change to non-staggered with South east. just that car is in PML now.....

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Puffer

Not sure if you can fit non staggered on 20". If I can be done let us know, the last time I checked was told otherwise.

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Hi Puffer,

think your rear wheel with a 10.5" width is likely to rub at ET 35. you really need to ferry some rear passengers to try it out. these wheels are more suitable for E60.

If you intend to change to non-staggered, not sure if you will lose any concavity of the rear wheel. A small spacer will be useful to make the rear more aggressive looking.

very nice rims i must say.

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Is irritating and confusing how internet draws too much varying reports... Sigzzz... Stocks rims are best

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Just to share....am on 20" rims for my F10. Yr tyres are okay with 245 front and 275 front. The recommendations is on the F10 driver seat door panel. No need to go into 285 unless u like it so much, but no harm if the offset is right. Yr offset is a bit too much for 10.5. 9.5 is best....for the rear....when u go over hump...no worries...my front is 8.5 and rear is 9.5...am on Breyton rims....so you may really need to check what kind of rims have the right offset before you buy. Naturally for F10, staggerred rims are the best and most agressive!!!! cheers....

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Consensus is 10.5 is wrong offset for your car

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

After reading some of the comments, i am rather confused. From what i understand 9" and 10.5" refers to the width of the rims, but some of you are referring it as the offset. The +30 and +35 the shop quoted is the offset. I think if you adjust the offset for the rear wheel to +40 it should be better.

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Sigz.. So front 9 is ok... Looks like i will be on non-aggressive whimpish 20 x9 for all 4 wheels. If also cannot then is 19 stagger. Ugly and whimpish...damn. Why tyre shop never advise me properly

Yah u r right, offset is the ET value and the width is the 9, 10, 10.5 etc

Our bad to confuse Puffer. We normally use the term "offset" to denote wrong rim measurements in general hurhur

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Mine is 8.5 for front n 10 for rear :)

1 2 mod, must learn learn. Nothing drop from the sky. Since i m frenly bro, i drop this for u:
BMW WHEEL
Wheel Offset Calculator

I would do my own homework b4 visit tyre shop.

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

called tyre shop ...clarified...and thanks to all the bros here for explaining to me or confusing me(kidding)....

I have run a check on BBS USA site application so will go for a 20 inch x 9J ET29 non stag set up..rather than the smaller 19inch stag set up. I guess i have to sacrifice a bit of cosmetic to accept my preferred CHR on my F10.

here's the funny thing...tyre shop says because 20 x9 is a big rim..if i want i can fit 275/30 on it too...is that right?

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

Can. 275 is still ok. In fact if non stag, 285 also maybe can, so the tyres r stag not the rims

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

any safety issue u aware off? so if i keep to 275/30. from the side view it will still look the same as when i have stag rims is it?except internally the rim is smaller?

I understand from one of the bro his f14 rim set up is F 20 x 9 ET 28 and reaer 20x 10.5 ET33.....technically if this is custom..and i compare with CHR stag of

20 x 9 ET 29, 20x 10.5 ET 35 can survive le?

sometime if you want to do in your own way like cosmetic reason, you have to compromise.
your WANT would be out of OE specification.
by lookig at your picture it looks very aggressive to me:biggun: by nice.
YES 9 " width rim can take tyre size from min 245 to Max 275
But is FUNNY and wrong to put all 4 x 275 tyre on your F10

unless tyre shop smoke me....but they insist BBS set up is ET35 with 10.5. they told me if not change to non-staggered and all on 245/35/20 tyres. ET29 with 9inches rims[/QUOTE
Why didnt you opt for the non stagger all round with 245/35/20 tyre? since they did offer you the option?
Or may be you just Like the way the back wheel BIG and sticking out?

I tried ferrying 2adult n 2kids behind so far no issue at all..

Re: F10 523i 20 inch staggered set up

just see the BBS site
Japan BBS LM F : 85x20 ET32 R : 95x20 ET37
RN F : 85x20 ET30 R : 95x20 ET40
But the BBS US retailer CHR F & R : 920 ET29
How do we know which is the correct off set? for BMW F10
even within the BBS family also come with not same offset for same size 20" rim
if you have to bring the rear wheel width down to 9 x 20 or 9.5 x 20 keep the existing tyre 275 you will see your tyre goes inside your wheel well than you may find it not aggressive
