F10 fuel consumption

Re: F10 fuel consumption

Dec 2010 523 on 19" Stags, 80% highway (no difference as peak hour traffic mostly) 20% normal roads. I-Drive is reporting out 9.4L/100km. 10km/L is already a wonderful figure for a ride of this size.

Any disadvantage of using diesel...?

Diesel 520d sounds like a taxi on the outside
Personally, I can't find any other disadvantages, but many plus points:
1. Cheaper to run with > 13Km/L (30% more).
2. More torque with 380Nm (50% more).
3. Cleaner engine with only 129g/Km CO2 (15% less).
4. Less visits to the petrol station (half the number of times).
5. Can drive hard to your heart's content without worrying about money & the environment.
6. Just as comfortable inside the passenger cabin.
7. Cheaper to buy too.

Full tank, drove to KL & Back, used slightly more than half tank and still have 500+km to next top up.

Is it cheaper to buy 520d compared to 520i ? i think not.

What is the service interval of 520d here? Seems that my UK friend's 320d service interval is very very long. He mentioned he didnt send in for servicing for 3 years (50,000km? ) and the dealers told him its ok. He was worried.

I was told by PML that 520i service interval is 10,000km (?!) Used to be 25,000km i thought. What is the actual service interval?
At least Mercedes is consistently at 15,000km.

Current pricing from SGCarmart for 520i is $253K and 520d is $257K.
(my apology for the wrong info. I bought mine 1 1/2 year ago at 20K cheaper than 520i)

Regardless what was told to me, I will be servicing my 520d in intervals of 10,000km - 15,000km.
