they take ur annual depreciation of the car and calculate a price that they will take in. that is their start off price, if they say they have over trade of 10k, probably that is how much room they can move up from the initial take in price.

Can I say their take in price is the same as what dealer will offer me outside?

Yes u can say that. That is probably before overtrade, think they can stretch slightly more than 10k above.

for my case, they offered me only $6K discount off the list price and trade in my 07 523 LCI for $105.8K i.e. need to top up $143K for the replacement. Offer not attractive enough for me to sign on the dotted lines.

Did you counter offer PML a price? I got mine taken in for 105k for my 06 pre LCI 523 and that was when COE was at 57k level.

I made a counter offer to top up $130k with a max of $135K, a difference of some $8K from their last offer.

In 2005 I bight my 730ia at 238k after all trade-ins. OMV was 83k+ and COE was 16k. I think these prices are crazy, but then there are too many rich pple in singapore.We need a recession for things to reset a little.
