good buy?

Re: good buy?

that's because COE shot up from < $5K to > $15K in 3 months.
new car = more expensive, naturally used car price will follow

I don't know what you think but I'm quite wary buying cars direct from buyers. I still trust the dealer more, and don't mind paying a bit more. I believe cars from dealers are supposedly better condition as they also pick and choose cars to acquire (I may be wrong here).

Some reliable source from the car trade rumoured that COE will trend upwards to $20K so 2nd hand cars may have another round of price increase. Happy hunting

Caveat!!
lastest transaction 12/06 $80k no mods
Another caveat, 10/2005 sold at $77K. Maybe LTA should release actual 2nd hand car sales price to update the public

Re: good buy?

Just check with your dealer, he would be very happy to produce sale invoices to support his claim

Re: good buy?

spoke to a dealer friend of mine..
he says one reason the car prices are going up is because there is a short supply of used cars in the market for the dealers, as the number of used car dealers has doubled this year alone. also, as most parallel importers are not doing well with their new cars, many have switched to selling used cars instead.
the used car dealers are buying in the cars at a higher depreciation/year compared to previously.
so expect the used car price to increase in the next few months :verysad:

Re: good buy?

Sorry to hijack this thread...

What is the "reasonable" price of a 2-year old E90 320 and 325 sedan?

Can anyone also share what was the "new" price of the 320 and 325 back then i.e. 2007 or even 2008?

Thanks in advance :)

For the benefit of all bros who are looking to buy or sell BMW cars, why don't someone set up a new tread, get the help of bros who are 2nd hand car dealers here and share actual transacted car prices with everyone

Re: good buy?

There was a E90 320 (registered on 20 Dec 05) black on black offered for sale by a direct owner a few days back. Any bros know how much it was sold?

One way you can try is to find out LTA transfer fee for your ride and thereafter divide by 2%. Not a very accurate way but it does give you a rough guide

Re: good buy?

I saw a posting at sgcarmart 320i mileage 5k going for 92k 02/07
Is this a good buy ?
I also read that there is quite a few complaints for 320i, is it that bad?
Btw i am super new :)

Re: good buy?

Hi youkeat,

got to check the COE and OMV of this ride....

2.5 years at $92k abit ex....
why not buy a brand new one? new (FL) LCI model S$139,800.....
interest rate 2.5% vs 2.68% or higher.moreover non FL version .........
New car with 3 years warranty....better deal...................

just my opinion........
Happy hunting then

Ready Cash on the spot. not gong.. some buyer cannot secure loan.. waste time waste opportunity..

Re: good buy?

must sell fast fast

1. have to service loan for 2 cars

2. if do not sell the 1st car, may not able to get loan for the 2nd car because the 1st car loan is not settled

of coz, the above is exempted for those who buy car in 100% cash

I tried selling my previous car myself. After 1 week, cannot tahan some of the direct buyers. many stories, say liao vomit blood.

Then 1 night a dealer came personally to my house, never even inspect my car - he said he trust me, and he wrote me a cheque on the spot. He was a bit drunk, really. I find it less hassle to sell to him. So the car went to the dealer at $4k less than what I would have got if I sell directly, ha ha ha.
It's purely based on the fact that I can't stand the earlier direct buyers :lol2:

For my existing car, I bought direct from owner. Both of us easy going, so easy deal. So I guess at the end of the day, it depends on luck and who the buyer/seller is.

Re: good buy?

agree with u C3PO. try selling a car to direct buyers. 99% of the time vomit blood lah....
