This kind of father...... >.< Can afford to but dont want to.... le sigh. 不怕老爸没钱, 只怕老爸不够疼你 srsly...

Ive seen fathers who go to extreme measures to provide for the kids even though they are just avg wage earners...but too bad not every parents are that selfless...
CLAP CLAP to your father lah. That's his $$. He has provided you with what parents should do, i.e.Education.

If you can't find your own living, too bad loh. U r lucky he nvr kick u out of the house.

Nowadays, all the strawberry gen only know how to ask for handout (isn't that a bit like begging).

Do they love me any lesser? No.

Does he love you and place you above himself? If yes then you have a great father.

When shit hits the fan and when push comes to shove does he think for himself only? Mebbe your father rly goes the extra mile but not mine.

Re: Happy Father's Day

I don't judge ratty's dad, as much as I don't envy any of the good dads out there. We all make our own fate in the world - and we make do with whatever throw the dice has landed for us. There's a certain amount of pride in being able to say, in all humility, that one is "a self made man/woman". But, that's just silly old fogey old me ... things may be different for the strawberries nowadays.

I got some friends permanent students. Been studying all their life ..... Mostly in the US. Father pay for house, car and fees there. About 22 years of their life like that. They were there simce they were 18 yrs old.

One moment sociology another moment psychology ...... Say father farked up always asking them to do something they don't like e.g helping in the family business..... So elected to study and find themselves, feel their soul etc ......

So they say learning is a lifelong thing.

Re: Happy Father's Day

As a kid just shut up and listen la, because thats what ya gonna expect from your kid in future tio boh??
As a father, as long as you are not doing anything ethically wrong, you will be right because that is the direction of your mentality. And if you were wrong, wouldnt you feel you wanna turn back the clock and correct it? Unfortunately too late liao, you would have been stoned!!
Stoned by your kid who would be a future Dad.

Wrong means wrong. Right means right.
Shutting up and sucking it in will make no changes to the situation.

I expect my kid to tell me what they feel and of course my world will revolve arnd them bcus as a parent, you wanna protect them and you want your kids to look up to you as a role model.

I guess a lot of people have the diam diam suck in up mentality but imo it only throws you to the shorter end of the rod

I have no more to say to you other than i hope you will be judged the same as how you have judge your own father.
Fathers have done their job bringing their children up. Love is not measured by money.

Provide for and providing luxury is very different. I made my own money, I bought my own car. I couldn't sustain it I sold my own car. Never a single cent from my parents. Do I blame them? Sometimes because I really wanna go to Disneyland. Do they love me any lesser? No. Do you need to look past the haze? Yes.
If my daughter in future is half as filial and understanding as you two, I will have tears flowing down my eyes liao...sob.....sob...........
