Bro, yours is a E60. E46 is a 3 Series - one generation older than the current version (E90/92/93).

I have always been curious

1. Does anyone in Spore modify the 5 series e.g do the stereo, body kit etc?
2. Which company does that?
3. Does it nullify the warranty given by PML?

Not sure whether this thread is right place to ask these questions. Mod, please move if necessary

haha, u have to be bimmer nut to know all these... ok, i confess!

they are 'code names' of the variants and the different generations. e.g. 3 series - E30 / 36 / 46 / 90; 5 series - E34 / 39 / 60; and so on...

the engines also have their own code names S14 / N42 / M54 / etc... (does not correspond to the above).

don't know where they get these numbers though...

mmm... mebbe i'm not so nutty after all...

you will probably get a good idea of who does what in the 'links & resources' part of this forum.

i thought that your ride already has a very good factory sound system? if you want, you can try pin liang at havelock. go do a search. boss is quite chatty and will introduce you to various aftermarket accessories. but that's only my opinion.

you can also do a search in the forum itself. there is a portion dedicated to ICE.

check out with the other forumers on the stuff you want to mod though, esp if your ride is still under warranty. the bloodsuckers in PML are liable attribute any failure to the aftermarket mods you do to your car.

better still, hang out with us during the monthly meet-ups, talk to fellow bimmers, and get the info you need.

Plenty if you search thru this forum. Look at TERRY's car, damn chio right? Intend to get any? :nehnehhh:

Try to check in the resources link - you name it, you'll have it (all the way from cosmetic mod to engine performance mod. Yours a 523, plenty to mod lah, brudder.

3. Does it nullify the warranty given by PML?

This I really can't answer you, hehehe . Coz mine got no warranty liao

Hi, here comes the professional answer:
Series Generations
Internally, BMW associates an "e-code" for each generation of a series ("E" stands for Entwicklung, German for development or evolution). These "chassis codes" only change to signify a major redesign of a series, or the introduction of a new series. E.g.
E34 (1988 - 1995) 5 series
E39 - (1995 - 2003) 5 series
E60 - (2004 - present) 5 series

Thanks for the all the answers...

Not sure whether I want to mod.. never mod my cars before even my previous Lexus IS200. Let's see how the drive is before I decide...

waiting for PML to change my driver's leather seat cos I was not happy with the quality of the stich. Now I even found out that the leather at the back seat is a little bit wrinkled. Is that normal? It's less than a month old.
