By sharing your findings, it would help on the discussion rather than juz a simple question. This is a community for sharing (2 ways traffic).
I am staying here to learn despite not driving F30.
Just to recap my findings since starting this thread (cos it's been flooded with a lot of irrelevant and less-than-useful responses), it seems that from owners feedback (SG and otherwise) - an oil change would require 5
US (for the metric-obsessed I've met in this thread) quarts (tip for all the MX trading/Giant hypermart customers) or 4.73176 Liters (for the math-obsessed I've met in this thread).
Some points I have heard is that its safer to under fill slightly and do a computerized oil check followed by top up if necessary. I personally feel slight underfill is better than
any overfill.
No, the bloody car manual doesn't state anything on this. No, there is no physical dipstick to check.
So, you probably don't want to pour in 6 US quarts (5.67812 Liters) straight off (horror! google can't be wrong! Oh right, it depends how you apply the info). Maybe 6.1 US quarts is the true oil capacity of the N20 but suitable only when the engine is completely drained. I don't know for sure, but i'm going with 5 US quarts (4.73176 Liters). I've run over 6000km and current oil measurement is still at 100% so oil consumption is q low.
I'm only bothering for the benefit of other owners who may genuinely need the info. I hope it saves you from posting separately and having to go thru crap, caustic responses like i did, to get barely 5 genuine, relevant responses. If anyone wants to know more after i'm done with my oil change, feel free to PM.
