Improving E90 318/320 pickup by changing rear diff?

Has anybody tried swapping the rear diff for a taller ratio to improve pickup speed?

no lah.. mechanically...
change the diff lor. to one from a different car, e.g. 325i or 320i manual.
i just dunno the ratio now. but it is known a taller diff will
1) increase pickup but
2) decrease top speed
3) reduce fc

technically looks good since we don't need top speed in sg

problem is i think we have the tallest diff ratio for e90 already (3.46, i think... not much info after some quick google)

the more powerful the engine, usually the shorter the diff becomes.
so maybe if 320i guys swap to 318i diff (if it's taller) might have some improvement in pickup

detach, i also drive 320, imho, no matter change what it is still slow. the one and only option is SC the car.
hence, i have learnt to accept the car and move on to next car when the time is right.

Hopefully, 320d will be a viable option in the near futur. 380Nm Of torque, no horse run.

320d or 525d is on the roadmap. just looking for short term poison or "creating interesting discussions" for those left behind with their E90s

I cant believe it when I saw that the new 328i have an output of 245BHP/350NM with it's 4-cylinders twin turbo 328i.

0 ~ 100 in 6.1s, just 0.6 secs under the new 335i

Yeah the new 328i is pretty mad. It's supposed to superceed the old E90 328i NA IL6. I think that was a 3-litre petrol.

I can't find 320 but found this link:

Then do a ECU re-map.

ECU re-map only increase 5 - 10hp which nothing as compared to the body weight.

Turbo ECU tuning HP improvement should be quite significant.
