Re: M3 In Valencia Orange?
I think all the ease of maintenance spoken about frozen colors boils down to most of them being grey or silver which by nature are very easy to maintain, be it frozen or gloss.
Frozen white and black are in my opinion very very difficult to maintain with the frozen finish. More so than gloss surface.
Just take for example scratches and stains, on a gloss finish, the groomer can very easily go through with a cutting compound to restore the surface. This is impossible for a frozen or matte surface. The BMW frozen top coat is softer than then gloss finish. Bird poop left on for a few minutes and wiped off whilst still wet, will leave a stain that is shinier than the rest of the paint (opposite of gloss paint where bird poop dulls the surface). Then there is nothing the owner can do to restore the finish. I have seen the effects of running a cutting compound on a small spot of frozen paint, by hand not machine, and the result is a gloss surface.
