it won't need as much leak as a burst charge pipe. Probably when they replace it, job wasn't probably done and now seal is slightly broken. A tiny slip of pressure can make the MAP sensor send corrupt data to ECU to cause the problem.

My charge pipe burst if u follow my the other journey thread... Ma replace foc...
Car seat plastic no reason it broke, ma struggled with me over a ten dollar issue n finally say foc again...
The freaking headlight water spray plastic always misaligned n cannot close back. Done it for like 4 times already.
Now the car shivers n vibrates when coming to halt or stop position.
Squelching sound when right turn but gone now ...
I do not know if lemon law applies here. As still left with more than 1.5 years warranty, I m going to attempt them to do it proper, otherwise I reckon I have to serve them with notices. My first experience with a conti car is unbearable. Seems like every 1-2 months have to go complain. I m going more regular oil change than required n car still problematic ... Haiz ...

I have 5 yrs and 170k km of problem free romance with E60 till the past few months where all the wear and tear parts breakdown.
Only regular servicing for the bmw till 5yr when mechatronic/valve starting to breakdown thus i change it as preventive measure.
After the valve body change things start to breakdown one by one, starter motor, steering rack then engine gasket and radiator hose.
I consider bmw to be of decent reliability, at least for my E60.
My 2 months old VW jetta got towed back to vw this morning.
Engine was shaking when start up like one cylinder not firing.
Engine warning light lit, called vw and they arranged tow truck.
Other conti rides got their fair share of problems too.
Audi is not much better than BMW in terms of issues.
There are also many complains about merc in their forum too.
Want less problem buy lexus
Really got to think hard before jumping ship.

Either continue to visit PML or MA and still not be able to get the issues resolved, or go to another workshop and have the problems sorted out once and for all...
those are the choices.
in any case, he's also considering taking legal action should the authorised workshops not be able to provide solutions.
i would go to another workshop to sort out the issues, and try to claim the bill from PML or MA. The grounds for that would be incompetency to provide adequate service.
