323 & 325 has different DISA (differential intake system). Check out REALOEM. DISA for N52B25 is supposed to be 3 stage. Mayb 323 has only 2 stage.

It is the same for 318 & 320.

Bro,

Sat, 3.30, Gillman Village

See you there

Cheers

Do you think there is a difference in the country of make? Does Germany made means better fit and finish against S.Africa? If not wrong, only 335i and the higher series are made in germany. Sounds like bonus that basic 318i is made in germany.
What color is your new ride? Believe you must be really excited...

Bro,

Don't worry about the South Africa issue.

FYI, the plant in S.Africa achieve the Gold Award in 2008... in which the German factory didn't in that year

But the standard is still there..... don't worry

Cheers

Re: pml bring in 318??

anyone care to comment if the discount is the same for 318i and 320i. Or will i get higher discount for 320i as it is a higher priced car? I m in a fix now as i am contemplating to upgrade from 318 to 320. I have already paid 12k as down.

Re: pml bring in 318??

gold award is one thing. How about actual real world reliability and durability? Any owner feedback or satisfaction survey on those made in s africa?

Re: pml bring in 318??

cheers

Re: pml bring in 318??

ac323, i m curious to know why u chose 318 over 320. How is ur ride so far? Does the car have a rubber interior smell due to the pvc leather?

Re: pml bring in 318??

Hi XCLR8,

i didn't want to pay S$20k more for those goodies as i can live with it....plus 20hp lesser i can also live with it moreover i bought this ride is more for my wife.

interior smells ok.....and power also so far so good.........

i have also added coilover, velocity and 19ins rims.............

cheers

Imagine.... if ppl can rave abt the quality of the Silver standard german plant which churn out 320..... how bad can gold be.

Anyway, for 18k diff..... you can get most, if not all, of the trimmings of the 320 aftermarket at ard 10 - 12K.... including the re-flash part.

Check out the prices at one of the better n fairer workshops

Cheers

Re: pml bring in 318??

After considering all bros' comments, can we compare 318 and 320 in this manner?

318 = 136 bhp = listed px $126K = $926 per bhp
320 = 156 bhp = listed px $144K = $923 per bhp (in addition higher OMV & scrap value, more equipments)

Any comments?

Re: pml bring in 318??

Just to share, 318 and 320 reminds me of Honda Civic Exi and Vti during the 1990s. Both are 1.5L naturally aspirated, Exi produces 105 bhp (2-stage Vtec) whilst Vti produces 130 bhp (3-stage Vtec). At lower rpm, both cars feel exactly the same, but once going into the higher rpm, Vti feels the punch and charges as if there is a turbocharger.

If that is the reason, it really depends on what the buyer of 318 or 320 wants. If the purpose is for driving from point A to B, 318 more than sufficient, no need for 320. If the purpose is to vroom vroom with a little more lift and enjoy 'life in the fast lane', then 320 is the one (with the limited budget of course).

the 320 now comes with climate control. ur 320 has been replaced by the 318. there is only one 320 version now (the higher spec version during your purchase)
