Schools in Singapore

Re: Schools in Singapore

Fully agreed with that. LKY speaks well with no accents. Understood by everyone including the Ang Mohs ..... And that era has no enrichment centres.

Wei wei, I'm proud to say that I can & do express myself well - and I don't necessarily need to put on a fake American/Ang Moh accent to do it.

And, if English fails to do the job, there's always the good old SAF-taught, tried & tested: KNNNNBCC.B DLLMC.H direct approach.... :lol2:

Re: Schools in Singapore

have any of your kids complained or took it as a norm?

i look back at myself, it was the norm for me then with maybe once a week tuition, but my parents+frens said "very cham".

Re: Schools in Singapore

I feel inferior when I speak to some of my friends whose kids attend just about everything there is to attend.

Piano, violin, music classes, english reading, chinese, abacus, etc etc....

but then again.... the herd mentality is there and its strong.... so I must confess... my daughter attends pee wee tennis, swimming and then gymnastics on saturdays.... I'm a proud 'soccer' dad....

Re: Schools in Singapore

Neighbourhood schools just have more Mud Rocks, chow ah bengs and ah lians... sure there are exceptions... but more likely than not, your child will be influence by their classmates and environment.

Else, you should know what some are talking about.
It's about sharing in this open forum. One does not need to justify or prove that they practice what they post.
I'm taking points like Wobbles on what suits my situation.

see that's the problem...i never attend any enrichment class... that;s y my angmo failed and my curiosity post is seen as a challenge to justify or prove what they practice

Never had tuition or other enrichment classes , didn't want to burden my parents :(

But on the other hand, Im currently a voluntary tutor for a free tuition programme for primary school children at a service centre ,

Some of them still have other tuition program and enrichment classes such as piano,

somehow, I guess if I ever have children in future, I would just let them enjoy their childhood as much and not burden them with extra classes (school timing are already looooong )

Re: Schools in Singapore

I used to hate kids running around, crying on the plane, or parents kiasu about P1 registration.
So nowadays I don't say so much because I never know until I'm in that situation.

Btw Jasonmaxima is my bro while Zhenlie is a horse.
