Supersprint Exhaust

After driving with the Supersprint for a week, I was surprised to see my fuel consumption fall to an unprecedented figure, as calcuated by the on-board computer. This is lower than I've ever attained with this car.

The car also cruises on expressways with a lighter touch on the accelerator, which is corroborated by lower readings on the fuel economy meter during cruising.

This is not because I've been driving more conservatively this past week. I've actually been "training" the DME to optimise fuel/air ratios in the mid to high revs.

It seems interesting that an exhaust upgrade can also enhance engine efficiency.

Glad that you like it. :woowooo:

basket just when i thought i got resistance to mod virus liao...

what's the special promo?

Re: Supersprint Exhaust

kaiser,

mod virus is in your head, antidote is in j4c .... snowdog say one ... kekeke

Re: Supersprint Exhaust

See Toh, your ECU tuning promotion sounds interesting. Anyone here going for it?

Tom_ting, I'm trying to find gear that can record the sound accurately. I'm certain it'll more understated and less agressive than most other aftermarket exhausts.

dsfan,
could you post up a sound clip of your supersprint?

thanks

There are lotsa of people doing it already. Just that now got special price. :D

Re: Supersprint Exhaust

Hello See Toh,

Does the Wetterauer re-map merely involve uploading a generic map optimised for the stock version of a particular car model?

Or does the process detect any modifications to the engine, such as aftermarket Intakes and Exhausts, and adapt the settings to extract maximum performance gains from the increased flow of air and exhaust?

Perhaps such adjustment is the job of the car's own DME, and unrelated to re-mapping of ECU settings?

Thanks

Re: Supersprint Exhaust

also, to add on, what is the advertised horse/torque gains after the ecu tuning?

Not a generic map. We adjust the values according to the car type.

To extract maximum power, you need to dyno-tune the car.

The DME will learn the new setting together with the harwares that you have.

dsdfan,
the answer to 'sweethen' your supersprint has been found ... kekeke

We did for the NA bimmers and got 14hp and 10% increase in torque! :sneaky:

snowdog,
as posted previously my target for before/after should be sup sup sui right ?

156bhp + 14 = 170bhp
200Nm + 20 = 220Nm

like that i can soup up my humble 320 to pre-fl 323 specs :sneaky:
everything is ready just waiting for east-wind aka vitamin M

hmm, i thought this thread is about supersprint exhaust .... wahahahaha

I wouldn't say to the 323i specs but close to it. ;)

Re: Supersprint Exhaust

So, if I opt for dyno tune, the new Wetterauer map must be uploaded first, then, JFC's tuning expert will fine tune the map values with the car on the dyno.

Is this correct?

Apart from paying for dyno time, are there extra charges for dyno tuning?

Thanks.

Re: Supersprint Exhaust

For dyno tune, I the tuner will adjust the ECU map using feedback from the dyno, so there's no need to upload the Wetterauer map, correct?

Does dyno tuning yield substantially better results than uploading a Wetterauer map?

Is the Wetterauer map safer/less aggressive than a dyno tune?

You still need the Wetter map 1st. In all honesty, not much out of a NA car, less the M-cars and FI cars.
