That was indeed a great goal.
Some says Sundram has done the same.............

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Without a doubt, Rooney must have learned it from Sundram. :)

Tremendous result for arsenal, must have done wonders to their confidence!
But an away goal and 2nd leg at camp nou is a big banana skin.
But I also sarport arsenal! Go go go.
Win the CL and BPL for me! Dun let Man U win no shit this yr!

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Great work, Arsenal.

Mixed feeling as I prefer Barcelona getting eliminated early......... but class is permanent, form is temporary. I am not sure Arsenal can hold Barca at Nou Camp. The away goal is a Archilles' heel.

Sure... the return leg will be a different ball game. Barca will go all out to score. Hopefully we will have Varmelean back for that game.

When Arshavin scored the 2nd goal, I woke my whole family up.

Bro,
Great win!! Remember, "Gotta have faith, faith faith"
*shucks ... can't get George Michael out of my mind*

When v.persie scored, I couldn't believe my eyes. The angle was impossible! I thought it was the side netting so I remained stuck in my seat for a while. For the second goal, when Nasri cut back his run and v.persie overshot too fast down the centre, I thought the chance was lost but up popped Arshavin to curl it into the corner. Phew!

At half-time Singapore Pools had the odds of an Arsenal to win at 18-1. I put a little cheeky faith money on Arsenal. (*cue George Michael, Gotta have faith, faith, faith*) so obviously I'm delighted.:woottt:

The second leg is certainly gonna be much tougher at Camp Nou. I'm happy for the win for now but am also mindful that a 2-1 scoreline isn't that strong. In fact, a 1-nil clean sheet is much better. So, in three weeks time, i'll cross my fingers and play some George Michael

*Gotta have faith, faith faith*

Ha Ha. You woke your family up. That always the problem with watching football at home. Cannot shout! Cannot Curse! Cannot make too much noise or the family/neighbours will wake up. The Liz doesn't telecast the middle of the morning games. St. James Sports Bar does show some games and I might consider going down to watch for the second leg.

*Gotta have faith, faith, faith*

Hey dash, thanks for your support. Liverpool seems to be doing better since Hodgson left. I hope Pool climb up the table quickly and get the CL spot for next year. Can't imagine it going to Spurs for another year.

We will try our best to win all we can.
I think Liverpool and Arsenal fans have much in common. A love-hate relationship. We all love to hate ManU :shoot:

yeah man, i always maintained that other than my beloved Reds, i support Arsenal.
they play nice football and have a nice red strip. :)
i love dennis bergkamp. his goals are always so specially crafted.
rewinding those days, Pires and Overmars were really exciting players, i love watching them play ever since AW took over.
now I rate Arshavin, Clichy, Sagna & RVP highly too.
the only time i hope they lose is when they play us. hahaha.

Yes, Liverpool gotta climb up the table, this years 4th spot is tight. Man C got money but inconsistent....
and gotta give credit where its due, Spurs playing really well too. Their win over Milan was a dream result too. A Peter Crouch goal somemore.
we will get to 4th spot. but must win all remaining games!

I strained my arm while celebrating Arshavin's goal.

Recorded and woke up at 6am to watch it "live" without looking at the results. At one point it looked like Barca was running away with it and tearing Arsenal's defense apart at will. Arsenal were very lucky to win 2-1.

Was very impressed by Jack Wilshere, he couldn't put a foot wrong for the whole 90 mins...and he's only 19! I shudder with excitement to think what Arsenal would be like with him, Nasri and Cesc in the midfield a few years from now...if Cesc is still in Arsenal.

Hey bro, we have been talking about meeting up at Liz for a while. Let's try to make it some time soon.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Man Utd has been a harbour for all rascals. Alex has been reforming these guys - from Keane to Cantona to Rooney.... all hated, but somehow legendary in their own ways. Then came the iconic school of Beckham-Giggs-Scholes-Neville, then Ronaldo and Stam, of whom no one, other than Man Utd fans, loved.

And throughout this period, the 90s and 2000's, the trophies belong to Man Utd. I can understand why Liverpool fans hate Man Utd. But Arsenal fans? Arsene could not win anything because he is running the team like an accountant !!!

Yeah bro... I'd rather L'pool clinch the 4th spot than ManShitty or Spuds.

Big game coming up in Mar. I am relishing that game.

very difficult to do a Rooney.
Its just so tough, almost impossible to ask our strikers to sustain goal drought for so long.
how to score just 5 goals a season?
carroll accidentally scored 11 while at newcastle, and even the un-interested torres got 9. :boring:

oh that goal? anyway that is so simple even a Singaporean called V. Sundram scored bucket loads of it in the 90s. ;)

Well said bro, well said... couldn't say it any better myself.

Oh yeah... plus, none of our strikers threatened to leave and then made a U turn after he'd got what he wanted.
