The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

If chelski gets into another penalty shootout this season, don't think anelka will ever take another one.

Next season, he should be gone....:shhhh:

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

money can't guarantee success and can destroy football..guess that's what most fans in most clubs felt..bring that to the stadiums and u will see how people react to Torres, being seen as Judas, one that kissed the pool batch not long ago. New lows for chelsea are self-inflicting and impeccable.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

FA cup quarter final - Man U vs Leyton Orient or Arsenal..... :woowooo:

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

I say give up fa cup and concentrate on CL and league.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

after watching the match against crawly!! let me rant!
it was rubbish!! i really hated it when i had to wait untill 1am to watch a performance like that!!
let hope on wednesday morning it dun happened again!
go united!!
1 question: 3pts against arsenal at emirates or a quarter final win over them @ OT??

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Yes, Man Utd played badly vs Crawley, but still pulled through.... look at Chelsea. And Arsenal gotta play Leyton Orient all over again...... like I said, second string players, second string results....... some players are not even hungry..... Bebe, Obertan, Carrick......

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

carrick!! i think he is still ok... cos against crawly he is passing the ball forward instead of back and sides.......
btw.. we dun have any more spare midfield to use tat day.

but Bebe???? woa liao ah! wonder why SAF did not sub him out??? cos the silvas bros and anderson were injured!
I cannot see any RAW potential in him.

I thought that ManU played badly in the FA Cup but the Arsenal team is frustrating. It must outdo ManU in performance. If ManU plays badly, Arsenal will play worse. You can look at it this way that at least ManU got the win and are through to the next round. Arsenal have a reply which adds to the fixture congestion.

Interesting question but you are assuming that Arsenal can beat Leyton Orient. Their priorities may not be there but I hope they do it. If they do, I think for Arsenal the 3 pts at home in the BPL are more important.

Arsenal were complacent in the 2nd half....casual defence and midfield cost Arsenal the win...sian.

It was a terrible performance... passings were bad. Arsenal did not deserve to win the game.

Shhh! Don't tell anyone but I put a cheeky $50 with spools around the 80th min that the total goals will be over 1.5goals. Whichever team scores, I win. Given the way Arsenal plays, my years of experience has taught me to hedge the situation so that either way I'm happy.

The true question to ask should be how I managed to sleep after the last minute comeback against Barca .... I couldn't ... was a zombie for the rest of the day.

:p

Actually Guys, I think that objectively (if I can be), Arsenal were the better team on the night and should win. Our keeper wasn't kept too busy (one or two good chances only for Leyton).

What frustrates me is that this is a match we should win (easily) and yet we could not finish them off. What makes it worse is that this now adds another date to our crowded fixture list.

The replay is on 2nd March, which is the week before the Barca return leg. What should we do? For me I would stick to this same (possibly less potent and effective) reserve squad for the replay.

If the clowns mess it up again, we have no choice, (not that I like it), gotta save the bigger players for the weekend and Barca game after that. Gotta prioritise now.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Should be a walk in the park at the emirates for arsenal...
