Hey, sorry to hear that, hope your dad gets well soon.

Thanks! I just hope Man U keeps trippin'! :biggun:
Big game coming up in Mar. I am relishing that game.

very difficult to do a Rooney. Its just so tough, almost impossible to ask our strikers to sustain goal drought for so long.
how to score just 5 goals a season?
carroll accidentally scored 11 while at newcastle, and even the un-interested torres got 9. :boring:

oh that goal? anyway that is so simple even a Singaporean called V. Sundram scored bucket loads of it in the 90s. ;)

lmao.... very well said!!!
come on lar...... please look at my ROooney assist! SAF never cow peh also!! we fanzy wun complain!
V sundram tat wan??? please that was against brunei!!! ..WAT?? brunei compared to MAN CITY???

Oh yeah... plus, none of our strikers threatened to leave and then made a U turn after he'd got what he wanted.[/QUOTE

u konw why U turn??? cos there is no BIGGER club than MANCHESTER UNITED...
i dunno why got ppl say wat wat... chelsea bigger than liverpool, than liverpool fans not happy..
than goes on and on......
sigh....when players leave united is when SAF dun want them... ronaldo case was different.
we now very boh eng lar....cos we are gunning for a RECORD 19th lar...aiyo!

yeah man, i always maintained that other than my beloved Reds, i support Arsenal.
they play nice football and have a nice red strip. :)
i love dennis bergkamp. his goals are always so specially crafted.
rewinding those days, Pires and Overmars were really exciting players, i love watching them play ever since AW took over.
now I rate Arshavin, Clichy, Sagna & RVP highly too.
the only time i hope they lose is when they play us. hahaha.

Yes, Liverpool gotta climb up the table, this years 4th spot is tight. Man C got money but inconsistent....
and gotta give credit where its due, Spurs playing really well too. Their win over Milan was a dream result too. A Peter Crouch goal somemore.
we will get to 4th spot. but must win all remaining games!

For me, I think the old school Pool players were great to watch. Keegan, Dalglish, Souness and Grobbellar (spelling) for his antics ... oh yes not forgetting Ray Clemence.

Actually, if you look at it, I think Spurs are the biggest challenge for Pool for 4th spot but Spurs still have to play Arsenal, ManC, Chelsea and Pool. All the big teams will be playing each other so there will definately be some points dropped. Pool just have to pick them up.

Just don't pick up points against Arsenal so we can gun for the title. Tell you what ... when Pool play Arsenal ... we sit down over coffee and negotiate how to allocate the points based on who needs them more ... then we convey our decision to Arsene and Kenny ..

Hey bro, we have been talking about meeting up at Liz for a while. Let's try to make it some time soon.

Ya Bro, I know. Due to logistics, quite difficult for me to come out during normal evening/night hours. Usually easier for me to come out at late hours when everyone is asleep. I should like a thief.

If I can make it down, for a normal timing match, will get in touch with you.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

This thread moving very fast this morning. Cannot keep up.

Jonleeck, Sorry to hear about your dad. Hang in there and be strong for your family. Hope he gets well soon.

On a lighter note, Sundram's goal is much better. Roony actually shins in and it went in. Sundram was running forward and the ball was going in the direction behind him so he had to stop, turn and twist and flip up to do the overhead and a more difficult angle than Rooney. The type of opposition doesn't matter if we are talking about the execution of the kick. That said, credit where credit is due. It was a good goal by Rooney.

Kenntona quite right.
Arsene runs the club like an accountant. After all he is an economics graduate. Truth is, Arsenal doesn't have a big spender to bankroll it, so it has to spend within its means. I haven't actually looked at the numbers (so I may be wrong) but I'm guessing that if you look at the financial stats, Profits, NAV, EPS, ROI, ROE, Arsenal would be a better value-added team. We need to be prudent or else we won't survive and may go the way of Leeds.

It is not as if Arsenal have not achieved anything under Arsene Wenger. We've got a few league titles and FA Cup, had an "invincible season" and a 49-game unbeaten run which to date nobody even comes close. Running the club this way, with these achievements is fantastic. If we had loads of money like ManU,ManC or Chelsea, I think it would be a very different story.

I'm quite happy with the way Arsene Wenger has managed the team whilst balancing the books. Chelsea buys Torres for GBP50m. That amount could almost buy the whole Arsenal XI.

Old workhorse Carragher also ensured that Torres was torrid that nite.
That's why i said it the same feeling.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Frankly, the younger/newer players are looking promising.... Kelly, Mereiles, Suarez and Carroll are assets.....

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

i cant see liverpool breaking into top 4 in the next few years.......
even chelsea who spent so much is not guaranteed of CL.

yes. Kelly looks like our old Rob Jones.....
if not for Rob Jones's early retirement from the game, Gary Neville wouldnt have made England rightback spot his own in the last decade.

I just hope that Carroll can become another Shearer. :cloud9:

Man U used to have a player I like, and it was a certain Andre Kanchelskis.
dazzling wing play with combined w Giggs then....

he is the only Man U player I will try to buy when playing Championship Manager last time. :nehnehhh:

personally I say Liverpool should win the league.
but looking at it objectively, even Man U also not guaranteed.
at flag off time next season, every team got 50% chance of becoming champions.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Ya at the start of the season, I wrote man utd off for being a cheapo. Didn't buy any star players.
They are sitting up there more because of the other teams are weak too.

I still rem team needs to earn more than 90 points per season to win the league.
Now arsenal lost 5 games and they are still in the thick of it.

I think the problem is that ManU draw too many games, If some of their draws were wins, ManU would be runaway leaders by now. Well, at least this gives the other teams a chance to fight.
