high chance that Gerrad might not have the patience to stay at Liverpool.
i say make him the highest paid BPL player by signing him.
sign joe cole too.

arsenall looks like a good place to raid too. their players are not well paid.

doubt gerrard will go to man u. even if he leaves liverpool he know the rivalry is too strong to go there. unless he doesnt mind getting death threats all over again.

he will prolly move outside of england.

Now can we focus on the BPL, Alex?
SAF needs to rethink his strategy in Europe. Champions league is played across two legs rather than one. It certainly helps to incorporate some defensive play rather than plain attacking which man u is so successful in BPL matches.

many of the top european clubs deploy a more cautious style of play during the champions league and have been succesful with it. going in with all guns blazing just doesnt seem to work for em. having trailed 2-1 to the germans going to old trafford, is a decent score i shld say. they really shld have done better with it

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

i think united only needed a big center forward, someone like torres?......would be ideal!
if only he wanna join us!guts feeling told me we gonna have benzema...........
i alway felt having berba is a luxury........ is like driving a very expensive car to the market to do shopping.
we just want somebody to hold the ball.... and with pace...not fancy touches.

enough said, it alway hurts to lose and get out of a cup competition, worse if u wake up to catch the live telecast!!!
If win...can sleep happy and buy a copy of newpaper noon edition to savour the victory!!!
lose?????.......(@#*^$^%!(#*^_%~(^#%_~@!(#*$(*^$
how to get back to sleep?
will avoid reading the papers for 2days.....
but will still wear my jersey to church.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Come on liverpooland fulham.... dont exit from the Europe too at this stage!!!

Lastly, England to win World Cup this year.... the last time when Italy won, the italian teams were really bad in their CL season!!!
hahahaha...........

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

No more english teams in CL.....

looks likely that Barca can do something no team has done before, to retain the CL crown.
that Messi is so bloody good.

i switched on my Football Manager 2010 game and checked him out....wah! almost perfect player, with all stats close to 20, except for jumping and strength obviously. :woowooo:

All the English teams must buy big this summer.

sigh. if we do not secure 4th place, i wonder who will come to Liverpool. Looks like its no big names, just lesser known players, :whythis:
hoping that they will become integral part of the squad....Players like Alonso.

or unless we get another big-name manager. who will also not materialize unless there is money to be spent!
and end of the day...the Yankees must show the cash or ship out! :furious:

thought madrid retained the crown before? or was it some italian team>?

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

All will drown in the English Channel, water too deep...
Man U needs to spend, midfield too thin.
I think the luckiest is Wenger... all he needed from the start of the this season was time to gel his team, they've all got quality.

If Man U had trained futsal with us on Tuesday, they prob would have won by 2 goal margin, Bmwf1 say one

no. no team has ever retained the CL after it was renamed from the old European Cup.
however, Madrid is the most successful, 9 times winners.

the rest; Milan won it 7 times,
Liverpool 5 times, B.Munich & Ajax 4 times...

surprisingly Barca only won 3 times.....so think they can make it 4? :shoot:

oh yes. Man U also has only 3 paltry stars their entire history at the threatre of (day)dreams. :nutkick:
(sorry, as hard as i try, cannot help it, hahahahahahaha)

At least Man U would have a chance to add to their tally next season, what about Liverpool? Seems like the only good thing about Liverpool now is their history.

(sorry, I also couldn't help it..hahahaa)

every club will hit stagnation at some point if not properly managed. With SAF soon to be gone and the clubs mounting debt, i wouldnt be suprise to see man u in the same state as liverpool, with less champions league crowns.

I understand that very well, I'm an Arsenal fan afterall. The glory days of 98 and the unbeatables season are over.

I'm not sure about other Arsenal fans, but I don't go around harping on the past because I really don't see the point in it. What matters most is the present.

dun say that la bro. legacy and history r very impt. esp when ur a club like arsenal or liverpool. some clubs would die to have just 1 champions league let alone 5. same goes for prem league. its something to be proud of.

other than my beloved Liverpool, I like Arsenal the most over other clubs.
Dennis Bergkamp is top stuff, and his goals were always magnificently executed.
I like Marc Overmars's wing play too, and I love Arsene Wenger's insistence on the beautiful game.

Yes, Liverpool is steeped in tradition and rich in heritage.
We have fallen from the heady days and am finding it difficult post-Souness era to climb back on the top of the pile.

I feel that once something noteworthy is achieved, people will always talk about it.
Yes, Liverpool will fans talk abt past history. At least we have a history to talk about.

and if no one ever mentions history then how come with so much dosh at their disposal, Man City cannot attract Super Scale Superstars?

The rivalry between Man U and Liverpool is well documented.
and the moment one match is over, it is considered history. But people will still talk about it.
so cannot help it that past history will surely be brought up.

cheers man! :)

What we achieve in life, echoes in eternity.

Wonder if Madrid fans dig up their 9 European crowns to dig at Barca?

Oh wait, they probably dun need to cos they are still winning La Liga with regularity.... lol

It's strange, I dun see the similarity and how it can be the 'same thing', if it's the 70s and 80s.
