+1,000,000 !!! Esp the Newcastle-Arsenal game.

Those Newcastle fans who left at half time....... ouch.........

Watch them get thrashed next Wed by Barcelona.
To be honest, they do look like Barcelona when they pass the ball around, but in totality, discipline and team shape (esp defence) have been a headache......

Its either the ball is round or the EPL is kelong. Scorelines this weekend are mostly unbelievable.
Newcastle's second penalty looked kelong......

Wake up call for Sir Alex - the defence is shaky against set pieces, esp without Ferdinand. Evans, Carrick and Fletcher are very weak covers for the centre of the box, as compared to Essien or De Jong. Disrespect the opponents at your peril.

Had mixed feelings to see Torres in blue strip.
He is one of my fav. no.9 , love his runs, technique and that killer instinct.
But now he lines up against us. Such irony.
I just hope he have a bad debut. what a wrenched feeling.
Maciam like seeing your ex who just broke off with you, in the arms of another guy. KNS.

With $$$ driving these deals, not passion, it is more like your favourite KTV chick sitting with someone else......

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Seemed like 50M player disrupted their formation.
Oops. And we scores.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Aiyo. Cannot believe Torres won the game for us. Thank you, Torres! :p

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Dash very happy....:woottt:

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

League leader Man Utd lost, but Arsenal and Chelsea failed to capitalise. Only Man City smiling.

Blunber 1 - Arsenal shot themselves in the foot after a 4-0 1H lead. Bookies were taking bets on more Arsenal goals in 2H...... when was the last time a BPL top team leads by 4 goals and left without a win?

Blunder 2 - Chelsea had 2 huge signings. But strange decisions from Ancelotti. Took out Torres at 0-0, and then put in David Luiz at 0-1? Should it not be the other way around? Start with David Luiz - "hello? You buy him to cover the hole left by Cavalho and Alex, and leaves him on the bench, only to bring him on when you need to chase a goal?" And no faith in Torres? Why take out your GBP 50m striker signings when you are playing AT HOME chasing a win?

Thank you, King Kenny. You da man. You sold Torres, played without Suarez and Carroll and still beat a team which had just spent GBP71 m !!!

oh yeah, after this morning's match.....i am relieved.
I was so worried that Torres will score and we lose.
but that was not meant to be.
i declare that the ghost of torres is finally exorcised in me. :stop!:

It was destiny that he moved to chelsea, on deadline day for that obsecene amount of dosh.
It was destiny that CA (or was it Roman?) decides that their new man plays in that offensive 4 3 3 formation.
It was destiny that Carragher, injuried for so long, makes this his return from injury match, and matched it with that world class block.
It was destiny, that Maxi will miss that glaring goal, to make the match aflush w/ nail biting adrenaline.
It was also destiny, that Chelsea played well below par, and we won the match, at a ground where our last won EPL game stretches back to 2004, goal scored by another media-touted Zindane wannabe, (Bruno Cheyrou, anyone?).

Destiny? ha! or kelong? heeheee....

no ktv chick is bigger than the ktv lounge. :D

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Wow! what a weekend. I need to rant.

As with all Arsenal fans worldwide, I watched with disbelief during the second half collapse against the Geordies. Unbelievable. Even when we were down to 10 men, I didn't think we would lose it. Even after the first and second Newcastle goals, I still didn't think we would lose. I thought it would be tight to the finish only. Then came the second penalty decision. That was ridiculous. I still can't see what it was for. When that went in, I could see the collapse starting.

After the match, I still wondered how it happened. Then Wolves beat ManU and broke their unbeaten run. The team at the bottom beating the team at the top. That is even more fantastic. All around the world, any ManU fans who had harboured secret hopes of an unbeaten season, saw their dreams evaporate.

To all Arsenal fans. You can be angry for being a gooner this weekend but take a step back ... things could be worse ... you could be a ManU fan seeing the the break of an unbeaten run ... and to a team struggling at the bottom of the Premiership for a game that everyone expected them to win easily.

Rant over.

Good show by Liverpool. Nice work to sell Torres and get 3 points.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

One of the hallmark of BPL is the unpredictability of the results, not like Barca winning almost every week. Even though I am a Man Utd fan, I thought it is an interesting result. It is a good wakeup call for SAF and team and I'm sure they will make it to the finishing line on top with this timely reminder.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

i'm so happy with the result even though they didnt really play that well. Look at how liverpool defend when Torres had the ball....

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Yah saw several pool jerseys at tampines 1. Didn't see any Chelsea ones... :)

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Weekend results were insignificant.
They didn't change any thing.

They were purely for bookies to make some quick bucks.

What was the odds for wolves win? 99?
