Dude, disagree on yr pricing. The Mark X F Spec (Basic Spec) is goin at about low $90K plus. IS250 shld be $125K +/-? about 30K diff la. but i agree wif u Mark X sounds like a great deal. In fact, Mark X pumps out more BHP then the IS250, although using the same engine, meaning that the IS250 is actually detuned. Also, yday I saw the new Camry in the showroom of Hua Yang PI in Ubi. Looks good but the engine sucks when compared to Mark X.
Lastly, Char Kway Teow wihout sambal chilli n lots of vegies is the best. ok, irrelevant.

I try to put it as succinctly as possible.
Eliminating the cost of the car, and yet one chooses the cheaper car, it means either of 2 things:
1) The chooser is wrong.
2) The unchosen car's objective value, disregarding the `non-objective' price, is lower than the chosen car's objective value.
Similarly, there is one I missed out, the crucial one:
BMW 330 or IS350 - I choose the IS350 for more performance and yet got refinement when I'm not flooring the throttle.
BMW335i (once it comes out) or IS350 - this is for me, the IS350 as I'd prima facie eschew dual turbos or any form of forced aspiration. However, the nature of the 335 engine has to be closely observed first.

He deserves a reply, even if there are a ton of replies.
If you think that there is no conclusion, then just type `up to you' in response to the threadstarter, and see how much help it is to him.
If I were the threadstarter, I'd be gratified on how the thread has blossomed.

the new camry looks more like the IS250, especially the rear.

Walk or IS250 - I rather walk coz I'm just not convienced its a car that is worth paying more than $120k, even if its darn value for $$ in comparison to the BMW 320i. At the end of the day, the Lexus is still ran by men who rose from the ranks of Toyota and also headed by a Toyota man. Period. 20 yrs later, maybe I may consider a Lexus in the league of BMW or Merc, but definitely not now.
The interior and especially the cenre console of the IS250 is a joke. It reminds me of a Cefiro. Well, before Cefiro owners come and get me, let me clarify. There is nothing wrong with the interior of the Cefiro if you're paying $90k. But to pay $125k for something that pretend to be in the league of BMW or Merc, its just not worth it. In fact, I feel the Mazda 6 or Legacy interior feels better screwed than the IS. The mock champaign centre console feels rite at home in a Toyota Vios.
Therefore, no matter how value for $$ the IS250 seems, I still will not get it. Come to think of it, in fact, the MORE value for $$ the IS250 seems, all the more I wouldnt get it!! I wouldnt want to feel like a cheapo, ok, can even call me vain for all I call, haha. Its my $$. For this, I have to give it to PML and BMW for successfully creating this desire among many ple to WANT to own a Bimmer.
So e46sg, have u tried the 2 cars and wat's your conclusion? After 20 pages of reply, I'm sure a lot of us would be interested in knowing wat's your opinion

Why don't u go take a closer look on the rear light cluster of an E46? Thats where the Camry rear looks almost exactly the same except the upper edge.
As for E90, if u think it looks the same, sorry to say that u really need to go for an eye check.

This thread had seen it's ups and down. If we examine the thread carefully, most of the forum members were interested in the merits of the IS250 because prior to it's launch, it's paper specifications were impressive and more so it's price. It's a good alternative for a lot of lower capacity drivers to look out for besides the blue propeller. Most of the posters do not deny the specs of the car and many regular owners tend to want to seek higher powered cars. I feel that most of the owners here do not necessarily fit your description of the un-informed buyer (not that you've mentioned they are from this forum I must clarify). They are interested in the car and they want to know it's merits/flaws thus the interest in this thread.
Most of the members have also come to appreciate the handling, that the cars we own provide, but many also acknowledge the lack of grunt for the lower capacity cars. We seldom see postings of any members claiming that their cars to be the speediest.
Personally, I feel that at least the thread has come to a point where most agree, the buying decision is purely subjective based on the buyers' perceptions of what they deem necessary and important in their choice of cars.

Apparently this thread has evolved into one where totally off topic statements are made and personal insults thrown from a member to another.
Should anyone of you here have any personal grudges, thrash it out over the PM system we have. BMW.SG does not and will not tolerate such immature and childish behaviour shown.
The entire thread will be cleaned up by the Admin team leaving only the facts and specific information relating to the E90s and IS250.
