Comfort Delgro launched donation drive for family of late cabby Cheng Teck Hock
Comfort Delgro has launched a donation drive for the family of the late cabby Cheng Teck Hock (pic left)who passed away yesterday after being involved in a horrendous traffic accident in Bugis.
Mr Cheng was driving his cab past a traffic junction when a red Ferrari appeared out of nowhere and rammed into him, overturning his vehicle on the spot.
The Ferrari driver, a PRC ‘foreign talent’ by the name of Ma Chi died on the spot while the Japanese passenger in Mr Cheng’s cab passed away hours later in hospital.
Mr Cheng suffered from massive bleeding in his brain, lungs and liver and was declared brain dead in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
He passed away at 7.07pm yesterday evening.
Mr Cheng has been working as a taxi driver for more than ten years and is the sole breadwinner of the family. He leaves behind his wife Madam Lim Choo Eng and three children between the age of 16 and 21.
He did not buy any insurance for himself and his family as he was unable to afford the premiums.
His eldest daughter just graduated from a local polytechnic and has to put her plans to study in a university on hold because of her father’s unfortunate demise.
His two younger sons are taking their ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels this year.
