Because Singapore is in such a hurry to become an education hub.

Think we can skip the all the medical theories of why Mariachi crashed. It's pretty obvious he didn't keep a proper lookout and just took a chance when he finally saw the taxi.

There is a law for the rich and a law for the poor.......

A man steals money from his company..

1. Rich Man: He has donated immensely to charity, he contributed to society, he does voluntary work, he is active in grassroots acitvities and he committed the offence due to a moment of greed and has made full restitution. He is still an asset to society, hence please be lenient.

2. Poor man: He did it because he needed to buy medicine for his sick mother and he is jobless.

Rich man gets a fine and maybe probation.

Poor man goes to jail. So what if your mother is sick? It does not mean you can steal you low life

This, my friends, is Meritocracy

sorry a bit late - how he steal from his company if he jobless?

Results of the autopsy is out and the driver of the Ferrari wasn't drunk. 2 ways to look at it:

1. What was he doing that he didn't stop? Did something happened that we don't know? We rule out heart attack since the autopsy made no mention of it.

2. The victims' family can now claim against his insurance company AND estate.

he was looking at the wrong traffic light...perhaps at the next junction...

been thru that area and sometimes not paying full attention...fiddling with phone...you might look at the wrong traffic light even if not at obscene speeds...cos there are too damm many lights along that stretch...

Perhaps true that he wasn't watching the lights but travelling at 200km/h? That road isn't even a highway! Unless he had no idea how fast he was going... Is the 599 GTO so comfy inside that your butt lost the feel of the speed?

I do agree. In a short distance, there is way too many traffic lights. It can be quite confusing at night when you look ahead. Of course its not a reason to be speeding in the first place but I am quite sure that played a part to PROVIDED he was not under the influence of alcohol which I still find it hard to believe that there was'nt any.

and at that speed and to reach it, bearing in mind its not highway but normal roads which are crap and forever under construction and digging, he could have already beaten quite a few traffic lights in the process before that fatal crash in Bugis....just my guess

Re: Two killed, 3 injured in Rochor Road accident

beaten 2 traffic light before the incident happens

Re: Two killed, 3 injured in Rochor Road accident

Driving at that speed where there are so many junctions, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, etc, is very dangerous. If a person suddenly dash out or a car comes out from a side lane, there's very low possibility that a normal driver (who is not the Stig kind) can be fast enough to make his car stop fast enough to avoid an accident ......

Even Omar will drive so fast only on highway or on very clear or long roads.....in Malaysia of course. In Singapore he complies with all speed limit.

agree.. it takes a certain distance even under full throttle to hit a certain speed.

very possible, without drinking & the gf did not touch/suck him, his speed definitely trying to beat the next traffic light turning amber, cos the red should appear long enough before the taxi move off. that road traffic light like as many as lamp post.

Insurance confirm goes up for fast car, esp Liberty who insured most of the Ferrari, Lambo... the most insurance expensive I came across was $90,000 annually for a age23.
