Updates from our Garage!

Most modern cars come with power windows. The window regulator is powered by an electric motor. The mechanism that moves the window glass up and down is the window regulator.

A window regulator does not require any maintenance. However, when it fails, the failed part or the whole unit needs to be replaced.

Symptoms of a failed window regulator
- Abnormal noise when a window moves up or down.
- The window falls out inside the door.
- The window rise slowly or jam.
- The window slides up or down crooked.
- The window jammed when the switch is pressed.

The problems must be properly diagnosed before deciding on repair options. Have your mechanic take the door cover off to check the electric circuit and find out which part has failed.
If any of your car windows is problematic, you can turn to Revol Carz Garage. Our certified mechanics will check all your window system professionally.

The BMW Oxygen sensor is one of the indispensable components that read the level of oxygen contained in the exhaust gas. It informs the computer system whenever the oxygen and fuel mixture is too rich or too lean to execute an effective combustion in the process of burning gasoline.

This is a vital process to enable your vehicle to run efficiently.

Like all automobile parts, the BMW oxygen sensor will decrease in quality and performance as it is exposed to impurities from the gas burning process. It is important to replace the oxygen sensor once you discover that it is not working properly. Do not wait until it totally breaks down.

Common symptoms
1. A failed oxygen sensor will cause a trouble code to illuminate the “Check Engine” light.
2. Oil and/or coolant can cause the oxygen sensor to fail.
If you are unsure whether your vehicle’s oxygen sensor is working properly, please drive up to Revol Carz Garage for a correct diagnosis by our certified mechanics who specialize in BMW and continental cars.

To get an engine started, it must be turned (or cranked) at some speed so that it sucks air and fuel into the cylinders and compress them. A powerful electric starter motor does the turning job.

Starter failures are not all caused by a faulty starter motor although some common failures are contributed by worn out carbon brushes, poor contact points or the armature bearing and weak battery.

The starter motor itself may fail due to other internal parts. If the starter is faulty, it should be quickly replaced

To find the cause of the problem in the starting system, your mechanics may need to measure the starter electrical control circuit first, among other steps.

The metal valve cover located at your engine top is removable to enable access to the valves for repair and adjustment. A gasket packing which is usually made of rubber of cork, seals the valve cover to the engine to keep any oil from leaking out.

If the gasket is worn out, engine oil will leak, causing the engine to lose oil. Running the car too long without the gasket replacement can cause serious engine damage.

Common symptoms indicating your valve cover gasket needs replacement are;

• Oil is leaking.
• Debris and oil around the valve cover.
• Whiff of oil smell coming from the engine when you drive.
• Oil found in the spark plug wells.
To find out if your valve cover gasket is OK, simply pop up the hood to look at your engine.
If you are unsure, don’t hesitate to drive to Revol Carz Garage and let our trained technicians do the inspection.

Maximize the lifespan and value of your vehicle with regular servicing at Revol Carz Garage.

Our experienced mechanics can service any make or model vehicle with the latest equipment. We are committed to providing a friendly straight forward comprehensive service.

We recommend a service every six months or 10,000 km and a brake check, clean and adjust for cars with every lubrication service. We will test or inspect fluids, filters and only recommend items that need replacing, saving you time and money in the long run.

When we service your car at Revol Carz Garage, we go through a carefully orchestrated procedure of double-checking and maintain every part of your car in our servicing protocol.

Whilst servicing the Mercedes 250CGI, we checked a failing brake rotor which the owner approved replacement.

Brake rotors should be checked at every major servicing performed on your car.

Generally the lifespan of a brake rotor is 1.5 times that of the brake pads.

Inspect your brake rotors for cracks, scoring or pulsation when braking. Visually, the brake rotor may look good but still be worn out.

A good sign that the brake rotors are worn out is finding ridges around the edges.

Our integrity and uncompromising workmanship are important to keep our loyal customers coming back.

We're starting 2020 with great service for our customers! A BMW 520I E60 arrived at Revol Carz Garage for a thermostat replacement.

The job of the thermostat is to maintain a minimum operating engine temperature in your car.

When you start the car cold, the coolant flows through the radiator to maintain the rated temperature within the engine by the thermostat.

If your thermostat is stuck partially or completely open it will cause the engine to take longer time to warm up.

Conversely, partially opened thermostat may not allow enough coolant to flow at high speed to keep the engine from overheating.

Your thermostat is faulty if the engine warms up too slowly and never reaches normal temperature or overheats quickly.

As a preventive maintenance procedure, it is recommended to have your thermostat replaced when the next cooling system is being serviced. Most car makers recommend a cooling system flush and refilled every two years.

It might be a good idea to have the coolant replaced the next time your cooling system is being serviced. Most manufacturers recommend a cooling system reverse Flush and refill every two years.
Do you find your car’s engine temperature erratic? If you are unsure, don’t hesitate to drop by Revol Carz Garage for a peace of mind. Our experienced mechanics will inspect and advise on your coolant system.

The Servo-motor is used on BMW models with normally-aspirated engine. It is responsible for actuating an eccentric shaft that adjusts intake valve lift.
.
Symptoms of failing Valvetronic (Servo) motor:
Brake, ABS, and 4X4 lights all lit. Clicking / juddering sound from transfer case “4X4 inactive” message.
The Cause:

Attached to the transfer case is an actuator motor with nylon plastic gear within which turned by a metal worm gear. Over time the nylon gear wears out and leads to the gear slipping. This can result in the symptoms describe above.
The Solution:
Replace the Servo or Valvetronic motor at Revol Carz Garage.
If your BMW lights up the above warning signs, don’t panic. Call our hotline, 6555 1171 and help is promptly on the way.

If you notice your car blows blue smoke while idling, chances are the valve oil seals in your engine have worn out.

Leaking oil is the most common symptom of bad valve seals. Leaks can damage or contribute to failure in the engine. If you find your oil level is low, the first thing is to check the valve cover and oil sump gaskets for signs of leaking seals. The valve seal leak can progressively worsen over time so it is urgent to replace.

One of the most common places to have an oil leak is the valve cover gaskets. The leak commonly appears in front of the engine or down the exhaust side.

Leak from the valve cover gasket can create a mess. Engine oil can seep into the spark plug holes and contaminate the ignition coils. Check the valve cover once the gasket has been removed. If you find hairline cracks, you will have to replace the metal valve cover and fasteners too.

Is your car emitting blue smoke too? Fret not. Just drive up to Revol Carz Garage and have an accurate diagnosis by our experienced mechanics.

Replacing the car battery for a Mercedes Benz isn’t quite simple a DIY job unless you have the proper equipment to register the IBS.

At Revol Carz Garage, we pay very close attention when it comes to changing car batteries, particularly, continental cars like the Mercedes Benz.

When we replace the battery, the electronic system needs to register an IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor). The smart-car power management software and intelligent battery sensor need to know when a new battery is installed, battery capacity, battery type, current mileage reading and that the charging profile is accordingly adjusted, etc.

Failure to register the replacement would cause the car to charge for an old battery. Similarly, registering the charging profile for an incorrect battery would cause premature failure.
If you drive a Mercedes Benz, it makes sense to let the professionals replace the correct battery with IBS registration.
Please bring your vehicle to Revol Carz Makeover for your correct battery and installation.

Regular servicing is a key preventive maintenance measure in keeping your ride safe and saving you money in the future.

Good mechanics will explain to you the car servicing and repair phases and they conduct a systematic multiple points check besides primarily changing the engine oil, oil filter and air filters.

Generally there are two types of car servicing. The minor service is required every ten thousand kilometers. The major servicing is generally every thirty to forty-five thousand kilometers.

The best guide for the car owners is to refer to the manufacturer’s manual.

Don’t ignore regular preventive maintenance servicing. Arrest a small fault before it becomes a major problem that burns a huge hole in your pocket.

At Revol Carz Garage, our certified mechanics are appalled by unscrupulous touch-and-go bad car servicing scam practiced by some workshops providing quick and easy quick oil and filter change and go.

Please drop by our Revol Carz Garage or on your next oil change. Our competent mechanics about ensuring your car is safely on the road again.

TOP COOLANT HOSE

Radiator cooling hoses are probably the most important part of your car’s cooling system. They keep the engine from overheating.

The coolant hoses are prone to failure since they get very hot (about 200 degree centigrade) and under pressure. They transfer coolant through the radiator and back through the engine to keep it running at an optimal temperature.

If the hose bursts or leaks, the engine quickly overheats, possibly causing severe damage.

Made of neoprene rubber, it is common for them to deteriorate or crack over time because of high temperature in the engine compartment.

It is important to replace worn or leaking hoses as preventative maintenance.

COOLANT OVERFLOW RESERVIOR TANK HOSE REPLACEMENT

The purpose of the Coolant Overflow Tank is to “catch” coolant that overflows the radiator when the cooling system is pressurized when extremely hot. A small diameter black braided hose connects the radiator to the overflow tank.

Over time, the rubber hose becomes hardened, cracked and leaks, being exposed to the extreme engine heat under the hood.

If you are unsure of your coolant hoses and the overflow hose are good condition, don’t hesitate to drive up to Revol Carz Garage and let our experienced mechanics inspect or replace them for you.

In our hot and humid tropical climate, the car air-conditioning is critical in keeping us cool and comfortable in our ride. The cooled gas chills the air in car’s cabin.

The car air-conditioner gets a lot of usage but we may not think much about the compressor works overtime to bring us comfort. The compressor does exactly what the name implies. It compresses refrigerant and sends it to your car’s air condenser.

Like other car parts, the compressor expects the wear and tear over the years until no cool air coming from the system.

If your car’s air-conditioning is not blowing cool air, don’t hesitate to visit Revol Carz Garage for diagnosis. We have the right analyzer and scan tools. Our certified mechanics will give you the right advice for replacement parts.
