Just learn to calculate one thing - DEPRECIATION. The lower, the better.

The cheaper the car, the smaller your loan, the lesser your interest.

COE is tax. Why bloody pay so much tax?

Unless for some reason COE in 3 years' time tank to $10,000 which I feel won't happen, then your car is only left with paper value if you intend to sell.

if that time comes, then take my 70K coe car and scrap lor. i get back the unused portion and still have to stomach the depreciation anyway whether 5k or 10k or 70k.

those with 5k coe will also have their car prices tank together with the coe.

Luxury car prices wun fall tat much lah. There is market balance for BMW n Mercedes n Audi etc..unlike jap or Korean cars can drop by half price type. So in the unlikely scenario tat COE falls to 10-20k levels, I believe the price adjustment would be about 10k-20k only. Take for instance the E60 523 which was selling at 170k when COE was 18k, compare with F10 523 selling at 200k when COE was 55k

With MW's mentioned prices, selling price of F10 523 should be 170k if COE is still below 20k range. But that is not the case as we know, PML was selling pre launch F10 523 for $189k with minimum discount, just before COE hike...

All BMW, MERC & Audi will be exported. Unlikely to find them in local mkt.
