totally agreed. did sean brought you for the test ? didn't see you at munich dinner last night?

Yeah, he drove the 12C to my office. I have no intention of buying the M235i, that's why didn't attend.

I guess they don't frequent our forum. In fact, Shawn didn't even bring me the 12C knowing that I am in the market for a GT3. He sold me my M5 and heard from me that I would one day get a used 458 or equivalent. I can only afford a GT3 new. For the exotics, it would have to be used. Shawn knows that and he has some used 12Cs coming in soon and thot I might be interested. There is no GT3 keys to give to me now as right hand drive cars aren't here yet. If not, I wouldn't have to resort to paying $988 to attend their Sepang event. Stuttgart/Porsche pales in comparison when compared to MA/BMW Asia. When we attended the recent M6 GC launch in Sepang, they flew us business class and put us up in a nice hotel. All that FOC! KNN, Stuttgart made us suckers pay for it...I am tempted to simply order the GT3 with Stuttgart without test driving it, but at $7xxK, I am a little reluctant. When i sat in their left hand drive specimen during the launch at their showroom, I could see some ergonomic issues to get used to. Their side mirrors are tiny, and the rear view mirror might as well not be there as the big ass spoiler covered up most of it.

Re: Which would you rather buy?

dude do PI one. dun hv to worry about anything….trust me. enough people know how to service porkys. but i wud spend 800k n get a used mp4.

Re: Which would you rather buy?

Very interesting thread. Learn a lot reading your insights.

Personally don't think I'll go to new M3/M4 since very happy with current E92 M3. Upcoming M3/M4 without v8 not helping... Audi R8 (v8 version), not much delta from current M3.

GT3, 458 and Lambo, now that's difficult choice to make. Can appreciate your challenge to choose.

BTW, why such a drop in price for GT3?

Eurokar has dropped the price on the GT3 and Turbos quite significantly. The GT3 is now $630k down from $680k earlier. The Turbo S i understand has fallen by at least $100k.

Enough oredi! Stop poisoning my mind. It's hard enough as it is :slaphead:

Honestly, among the 3 cars, my fav is the 458. Mclaren is actually my fav supercar company. I like their approach towards making road cars and the fact that they made all revisions and updates available to all cars sold is a very commendable practice. I am a strong supporter of the Mac F1 team, so u can imagine what a bad year it was for me in 2013. I will be going to Porsche's online web site to configure my GT3 and send to them for pricing along with a desired price for my M3. If it's all good, then it's a deal for Stuttgart. I was initially planning to PI the GT3, but the $50k price reduction, and hopefully a better price for my M3 makes Stuttgart a viable option. I have not test driven the 458 and I have decided against it mostly becos it's way too loud for me. I am referring to the image it brings. I am not exactly comfortable with that kind of image at this point. Can't really be seen in that car by some customers, at least not yet. Why not a 12C? Mostly becos of the turbo. I prefer NA for my sportscar, and that damn door...

The Speciale is my current fav supercar now. It rights all the wrongs in the styling of the 458 Italia esp on the front. The Italia's front looks understyled and reminds me of a gecko. The Speciale's styling is perfection to my eyes. Maybe in a few years time when prices come down...

Following this thread with interest. Thinking of gt3 as well. How much are PIs selling them for? Toto, can you workshop handle the servicing and updates etc?

Cheers,

Re: Which would you rather buy?

Also, the last I checked Stuttgart is pretty crap with trade in values. Margins shrunk as they are no longer a distributor only a dealer. So not much room for over trades etc. hope this has changed as I got a crap price for my m3.

Re: Which would you rather buy?

Perhaps, u should be asking why the price was so high in the first place ;) Porsche was way too optimistic for setting that kind of crazy price. I understand that the original pricing for the GT3 and TTs were set by Porsche and not Stuttgart. With all those measures against over extending of loans, it's wise that the saw the writings on the wall and responded accordingly. At the rate their cars are selling now, i won't be too surprised if they drop some more.

The new M3/M4 I am sure will be outstanding cars and will continue to set the benchmark. Those are cars I will highly recommend to people who are looking for an all rounded sports sedan/coupe that seats 4 or 5 comfortably and still haul stuffs in the boot. All that while putting a smile on your face. I am not considering them becos I am not looking for an all rounded car and would like something more focus. Of course, going turbo doesn't exactly help their cause at least to me. For sure, I will miss the S65 dearly. The only engine out there I like more is the V8 in the 458. Even the flat-6 in the GT3 doesn't sound as exotic as the S65 from all the videos I have seen so far. Porky die hard fans will prob cry sacrilege, but who gives a rats ass :laughlik: The S65 is the engine that escalates M to divine levels in my heart. The sound it makes past 5000 rpm I still can't believe came from a non Italian exotic. This thread would be pointless if BMW had made a proper Z coupe with that V8. I would be happy with that car and gladly pay M6 price for it! It's their fault!

I know. I have been told that as well, but given the tough market now, it's worth a try ;) If they can't match it, then I will go the PI route.

S65 spoils me as well. What a fantastic engine! Seriously can't see myself selling my E92 M3 for upcoming M4. Still a NA type of person and that v8 with Akrapovic is difficult to overcome by new 6 cylinders + turbo IMHO. Supercars are currently bit out of my reach but will start saving up for one :D Sounds like you prefer GT3 but personally I'll go for 458 or Superleggera (yeah, still like it).

Good luck with your decision.

Re: Which would you rather buy?

No bro, I love the 458 the most as said in my reply to Toto. GT3 is the most appropriate option for me now. Leagues of car nuts can't be wrong about this car :)

Yeah, will mess with their online configurator tmr :)

Re: Which would you rather buy?

I am also going to concur. Keeping the e92 m3 meantime while my wallet catches up with my car cravings. :) aside the e92 m3, doesnt seem like many choice of na v8 aside from isf which is a 5 litre.

Re: Which would you rather buy?

Holy shit! That's the first time I read about spontaneous combustion on the 991 GT3. I have been scouring the Rennlist forum and have not come across any major issue. There was one reported incident of powerloss, but that case was a little dodgy and not much info provided. This is serious shit!!! If I am going PI, this would be a serious concern. Thanks for highlighting this, bro! Will keep this in mind if I go the PI route. To go PI, u must at least save $100k for it to be worth the while.

For me, I have never liked Porsches until this GT3 came along. I still don't like the big ass spoiler at the rear. I like things subtle, but unless I stretch to the Speciale, it's all gonna be a compromise. Life is a compromise isn't it :) 12C is out for me due to the turbo. A used 12C is within reach now, but no go for me for reasons I have mentioned. Lambo isn't my cup of tea and the Huracan styling doesn't send my pulse racing. Buying an exotic for me isn't about how fast they go on a track, but how exciting it is each and every time u fire up the engine. It should be an occasion each and every time. For that, it has to sound very good, handles like on rails, looks a million bucks, and tons of feel. If I go Italian, it would be F and nothing else. I used to really like Gallardo, but they have been around for far too long. I had expected more of the Huracan, but was left disappointed :( There is another exotic I really like. It's the Aston Vantage V12. Unfortunately, that car comes with shitty ass automated manual and that is a show stopper for me :( In fact, even a V8s Vantage would suffice if only it had a dual clutch gearbox. That car has tons of character and sounds musical to my ears. Too bad. AMG is investing into Aston, so I doubt their NA engines will feature much in the next gen cars :(

Axis Of Oversteer: 991 GT3s are so hot they are catching on fire.

For me I am thinking the opposite, the GT3 just doesn't look/feel special enuff for me.

458 Speciale or Huracan with about 1 year wait, or the MP4?
