Everything is relative, it would be very crowded if land area shrinks
More crowded in little india than sembawang if we look within our city
Imagine if we have double the land size and double the population,
it would be less crowded what we are experiencing currently as people will have
more area to move about ( I didn't say run lion)
Over-crowding will lead to higher cost of living as people try to
out-price each other to secure the goods and services
The by product is the increase in pressure & tension
resulting in two educated men middle fingering each other
in public without shame....even though at the spur of moment

Just run through the list of densely populated cities especially those above SG, you probably notice that the social issues in these cities are more challenging and deeper than SG currently. Crimes like rape, theft, burglary, kidnapping etc and also other issues like traffic congestion, pollution, strikes etc are much more prevalent and serious.
If SG hits 6.9M population, we can easily calculate the density and cross reference to the table. Will we then be faced with the same issues and challenges that these cities are facing currently? Pointing middle finger is then only child's play and then also already prevalent now...

When population hit 7mil and less than half are locals then the us would refer to FT.
