He told me the new buyer complained car no power. Heehee

coz dealer only spent 5000 to fix the abs pump but never fix hpfp.
Poor buyer.

after reading all these HPFP and turbo issues, I think best is still NA engines.. safe and reliable like golilok's 528 N52 inline 6

Then when test second car how to know or identify HPFP (what does this mean ?)
Is this the O2 sensor problem thing ?

Fixing HPFP problems would be like spend how much ?

At least can work out my maths when looking for second hand since brand new is too ex for me ..

(1) You cannot identify HPFP issues before hand. HPFP = high pressure fuel pump. Can occur multiple time on one car and none on another.

(2) Not O2 sensor related

(3) Damage for a full replacement = $1200 parts + labour thereabout.

$1200 with 2 years warranty ... $600 per year ... consider cheap to maintain 335 hitmee says

Parts can get from ES, around $800. Rest is labour, so it actually ranges from 1100-1200....

I am new here and i have been following this thread with interest.

It seems that the HPFP is a common problem on the N54 engine but are there any HPFB issue on the new N55 engine?

I hear that there is always an over-heating problem on the N54 335. Is that the main reason that led to the premature failure of the HPFP? Will an additional oil cooler solve the problem?

N54/N55 same same.

Not the overheating issue.

My N54 had an upgraded OC. Does not help that much. You wanna explore a secondary OC, need to check where to place it in the engine bay......

I find it strange that a 2011 N55 335 sedan doesn't come wtih DCT? Is it only the Coupe or Covert that comes with DCT?

HPFP is fuel-cooled lah.... oil cooler does nothing for HPFP...

Oh I tot oil cooler helps with a cooler engine n hence will prolong the life of the HPFP...
