bad experience in PML

Re: bad experience in PML

I don't know some others SA, but jeff the SSA is doing a great jobs, the only things happen to me is the workshop guys trying pointing finger at the SA,which is very bad for the company. another problem, 1 car involve 3 managers, do u think wat will happen to a owner.

Re: bad experience in PML

This is nothing new. Both my rides have been in PML's workshop for that kinda duration ....at times even more for one problem or another. Therefore, fret not; whatever prob you hav, I have it twice as bad.

You are lucky that the service advisor ran for his life. At least he didn't stand there and lie to you without even blinking his eyes!!!!

Re: bad experience in PML

anyway I agree, I'm still waiting for the report for activities and parts they have change.

Re: bad experience in PML

Re: bad experience in PML

Hi guy , I am new in this forum . What you guy is saying is true . Recently , this month I sent my car for the screening sound from the steering wheel especially in the morning and first turning down from the carpark you will hear the sound then no more after the engine run in . Once the car stop for say 5 hours and start again and the first turn you will hear again . I told the advisor about this and I left my car overnite so that they can hear it once you start in the morning and going for the first turn . They told me there was nothing to hear but they have dismantle my steering wheel to check on it , well till today it was fine but do not know how long it would last ..!! Beside that the car is having noises and the advisor is saying that the door rubber need to be replace ... the car is less that one year old and is already given problem ... !! ..... Well , ever since I have face these problem I have told my friends and those big bosses not to consider this car go for Camry or Lexus ... which I am thinking of it liao ..... !!!

Re: bad experience in PML

Jeff at Alexandra attended to me promptly regarding my E60 door creaks. Stuck friction tape on all sides and the noises are gone. Apparently they have a QC person who test the ride before and after the repairs to verify /rectify faults before handling to the owner. He mentioned to me about politics inside PML, and now they getting their act together by having more QC .

No complains..Service improved.

Felt Kampung Arang service was worse when i did my coolant warranty claim.

Bimmers will have faults, its unevitable..if u want reliability, get a Toyota Camry!

Hahahaha....Jeff Vasaloo was transferred from Kg Arang only a couple months back. Its only a matter of time before the "backroom" staff at Alexandra make you lose faith in him too.

Re: bad experience in PML

Ya. i think is a matter of time, especially he is in the front line (Customer Service) without support from part and workshop staffs.
I dont who is the one headed the 3 depts. sitting here waiting for things to happen.

As for parts dept. they dont stock parts and i have to change 4 parts during the last visit and it took 4parts X 2 days = 8 days. Ha Ha Ha, so now PML have no different from the PI.

Sorry, but I missed this line of yours!!!

All cars have problems. Even a Camry or Accord will give you problems which are perculiar to their brand. It is how the Company tackles your problems. To a certain extend, all Companies have their own little internal problems here and there. How do you explain a Senior Manager lying to you about replacement of parts, etc? How do you explain screws left in your boot when they should be screwed into the proper places? How do you explain fingerprints all over your roof lining? These are not hypothetical questions....they happened to me. There are more, but I don't think I need to elaborate further.

I can see that you are very satisfied with PML and their service........lets just wait and see.....only time will tell.

Re: bad experience in PML

i've had my own fair share of experiences with them :)

all i would say here is that.. you gotta bang tables so bloody hard that the creaky dashboards in the cars on display rattle.. only then you will get your way, all the way, until you sell your bmw.

am satisfied with their service now. was very, very unhappy with it when we first got out cars.

do note that i'm pretty sure whoever you've mentioned from pml in this thread has been here and read your comments.. happened to me. haaa.

cheers mate.

Re: bad experience in PML

Hi all,

After reading ur experiences, they are scary. why are there no action taken?

I think it should be taken to BMW Asia, if even they don't takes necessary action to satify our queries, I think we should meet up to discuss wat to do next.

the reason why I'm so insist, because I suspect they r doing something to my car for these 18 days in PML for just changing 3 parts and worse, evertime I collected my car from PML new problem surface.

Re: bad experience in PML

yo taylor, yours look like a BIG lemon. ever tried asking them to replace it?

btw, none of us here knows what were your problems since you never got down to listing them in the first place...

If Jeff Vasaloo is ur advisor, good luck to you. I gave him a piece of my mind when he asked me why i changed rims and all. And he told me brake pads are due, but cannot be backed by warranty cause i changed my rotors. So i told him dont change brake pads. And he said must change cause its almost gone. I asked him to show me and there was 35% left. After that, i never went back to him during my warranty with PML. Instead, another advisor of the name of Anwar attended to me and i must say that he is probably the person you would want to send your car to. Very professional and doesnt ask you to change unnecessary parts in the car. Also minds his own business on what mods we have on the car like BBKs, rims, etc as we all clearly know that whatever mods we do to the car is clearly at our own discretion. Its different when someone asks you why and he is from BMW and says stock is better. :furious: Idiots to the nth degree. Hope PML ups their service and hires younger advisors like Anwar than senile ppl like Jeff who prove to be most irritating to the younger crowd.

Re: bad experience in PML

Hi all,

I'll just be absolutely honest here and state for the record is that:

My SMG actuater gave up just shy of 60,000km. (I.e. can't shift properly, car slips into N and i had a limphome mode experience before.) Brought the car into PML and had it looked at, My CSA was very attentive to my problem, and even though i knew she wasn't in the tech department, she was very communicative (call every 2 days, if i couldn't answer, she would leave me updates via voicemail) throughout the week my car was in the workshop.

Now... my CSA doesn't know about me, or whether i came from the forum. I took over the car from the last owner just 2 months ago and had to re-register my name, however my experience with her service was top notch.

On the day i was collecting my car, she was very busy with paperwork and other clients, but still catered to managing the release and explaination of my car's problems etc.

I feel that service is almost quite dependant on who's attending to you, ultimately they are still people given their timelines. I frequent alot of external workshops out there with my previous 3 and even then, there were times things just don't resolved or communicated properly.

It's easy to flame PML or BMW Asia for their service, however good service is hardly( or never) commended nor even mentioned here (because they'll get flamed to bits and be quoted that they're a "rare breed" ! haha). I had lunch with another member just recently and he was being attended to by the same CSA. He said the same thing as me, excellent and communicative skills by same lady, pleasant to work with, in the end, great service from them.

I guess our expectation of the car is alot higher due to the premiums we pay, no surprise there. I personally don't give jackshit about the shocks giving out or creaks happening in our family's civic or corolla. When it happens it's just because......it's a cheaper car. If the same thing happens to my BMW, i feel the pain.

We get all flustered up of a small creak, a wiper not working right, a ding in the door, because it's a BMW.... and ultimately the biggest difference between the 2 cars is a badge and brand. Nothing more really.

I would bet my last dollar that alot of members in here have the same problem(service quality + maintainence and reliability issues) here with external workshops but are willing to look it over and keep their comments to themselves..,My guess it's because of the cheaper price and that they're not the "official" workshop anyway.

For a mere difference in savings, we tend to lower our expectations subconciously.

I messaged taylor666 recently to see whether there was anything i could do to help, but he has since not replied to my PM nor stated the specific problem in our forum.

I'm hoping this isn't a thread purposely out to incite any public backlash to the distributor cause it doesn't help anyway. Blowing it up on local media (been there done that) doesn't work either.

I've seen the management of PML do their best to help a member (regular and new) to resolve their issues, and most if not all of the times it was done well. I'm sure some thread posters in here can attest to that. Heh.

Let's be fair, yes even though things do get on our nerves from time to time, and realise that a BMW is still a machine which has it's faults and niggles...other marques do face the same problem but we don't surf their related forums to know what they face, hence we feel like the only one.

Re: bad experience in PML

Ryan, have you or the other member spent some time writing a compliment or communicating the CSA's good service to PML?
be nice if she deserves it.

Re: bad experience in PML

well said ryan. i do agree its CSA dependent most of the time and in fact, i had a nice experience with one of them too when i change out my axle. i eat my words about suggesting to blow up the problem, it would only create bad press for our marque...munch munch munch

Re: bad experience in PML

Good objective post there Ryan, kudos!

PS: Nice Alizee pic, Will! Me OTing... ;)

Yep i did provide feedback.

I give credit when credit is due. She did a really good job and i was really pleased with her work.

There are people who just expect such service anyway, but do nothing when it's presented to them. Well, such is the people you see everywhere with regards to the service industry.

Re: bad experience in PML

Anyone by the name of Kenneth (320iA e90) here? Saw you at PML Alexandra yesterday near 7pm and you must be really angry at that SA's service. You are yelling at that SA in front of the 523 on display for some reasons which I overheard one ie some faults in your car that was not rectify and almost caused you into an accident. If you are here want to tell us about it, so we can be cautious of same issues.

Also the funny part is that you just drove your car right into the service lobby (where all the car parked to enter the glass automatic door to the reception table) and no one from PML including any SA, receptionists or managers dare to interrupt you to shift your car for the rest of the cars to leave.

Re: bad experience in PML

perhaps mr Kenneth should borrow the

that are on Singapore shores already and drive straight in...
