As long as the car is problem free, you will have little problem with PML service because you don't hv to deal with them. I feel kg arang is slightly better than alexandra in terms of service level.

Second that. Kg Arang is heaps better than Alexandra in terms of service level and troubleshooting process. I love my CSA there. He's very bent on having every problem solved 200% before passing the car to me. I never saw such dedication with other CSAs and they would just choose to overlook it and see what happens. I feel Kg Arang is more organized due to the smaller volume of cars going in there. But of course for me, its 3 mins drive from my house. :)

Thats exactly who i am talking about. Hes real busy now with the 7 series programme but i still managed to get him to do my car. Not to mention hes also involved in both the Intensive and Advanced driver training. His career looks very bright. You seldom see CSAs juggle more than their workscope itself let alone do a proper job.

Is the Kampong Arang centre gonna close down? There was some talk about the lease expiring but that was a while ago.

And when is the new one at Alexandra opening?

concur with the service at Kg Arang. i've not serviced my car in other pml workshops. but so far i've had no complains whatsoever having my car serviced in kg arang. always have had problems solved, servicing always prompt.

correct me if i'm wrong, kg arang only deals with certain kinds of svcing right? heard its very basic stuff, anythi more it wld have to be done at the other 2 centres...anybody care to comment?

As far as equipment is concerned, Kg arang doesnt have the more sophisticated ones. But seeing how they are able to troubleshoot the problem fast and without using those more sophisticated equipment, you can only guess the bunch of jackasses sitting at Alexandra road. A classic case of 'A Bad Workman Blames His Tools'. I personally had all my problems solved and wrapped up at Kampung Arang at the fastest possible time. Previously with my other ride, alot of forummers who had the same problem as me, had longer wait times at Alexandra and on top of that, their rides being ruined by the clowns washing the cars and fucking up the paintjob on the car. I will NEVER send my car in Alexandra. I rather pay to troubleshoot it at BVO or J4C then let those ppl do it. More than half the time in Alexandra, the ppl there tend to just ask you monitor the problem even when the problem is repeated. Or they say it has been solved, and it has not.

Recently, one of out forummers here sent in his ride to check on some noise and it was related to the braking. PML said they will look into it. THey said something to do with brakepads and they say they will change it. SO he left his car there and PML supposedly replaced the brake pads. When he collected it, the sound was there when he drive it after a while and he went back to Kampung arang this time and one of the guys said, you got no more brakepads!! Meaning under warranty, it should have been replaced but it was never replaced by the guys at Alexandra. If this is the kind of cheap games the guys at PML Alexandra wanna play, then this is the reason why many people are going the PI route now as there is no sense of responsibility and 'treatment' difference from getting it from an authorized agent such as PML themselves. As it is every car is a fat profit margin for them. Thats why i always steer clear of Alexandra service site. The guys there know nothing but only to sell cars. They do a good job at it. Sadly, the ppl at the service side dont seem to even know anything abt what they are doing. Once, my friend asked he had squeeking noise in his 5 and you know what the CSA said? Its normal for BMWs to have that noise. What are we? Idiots? Its the goddamn rubber seams that was giving way or hardening due to the hot weather in Singapore. There you go guys, PML SERVICING at Alexandra. Just gotta love it.

wow, i mean i heard bad things but this tops the list. not done any svcing as yet, other than the change of axle months back at alexandra, but looks like that will be the last time i'm gonna to visit that place...unless i get to join the BE92NG club of course. tks omar

Kg Arang got much better ppl handling the after sales there. It very visible from the way they work. I think these guys deserve alot of recognition here. Its in 1 ulu backlane like that. Alot of ppl hardly know there is such a svc centre. And its the best one you can get from PML.

Well, my first encounter at Kg Arang was bad. Then, I did not have any preferred advisor. Had lots of problem reaching the guy for 2 days. Did not call me to update me on the progress. Even after collecting the car, I still have to request to see him to give me a de-brief on the problem. Well, that was close to 3 years ago. Ever since, I have only gone back to Alexandria for all the servicing with excellent service. However, maybe because I managed to get a good 'referral' from my SE. (I actually thought that their service standards has gone up, apparently not?)

So, perhaps it is clear that the service standard is as good as the advisor that you get.

E90 - 14days???? What the heck?
Who was your S.A?
1) Did you complain to the service manager?
2) Did you call you sales person?
3) Even a major air con compressor change takes no more than 48 hours.
Don't be a push over by PML - they will continue to take their own sweet time.

Neh neh... i follow thru 10 pages of the thread, still have heard about your original problem....

anyway, about 1 month ago.. a friend driving the 520 ask me to go with him to fix his car. We went to KG Arang. apparently his water tank for the wiper burst. We drove in, This guy was very nice... Mr XXX.. small issue.... replace the tank... can you leave your car here for 2 days? My friend ask how much. The SA says, he need to check, but should not be more than $400.....

I told my friend... let's try riverview.... went to Riverview, saw vincent.... he says... oh.. small problem.. leave the car here.. go have kopi and come back....

Bloody hell the kopi tiam damn far walk... took us 15 min to get there.... drink 30 min... walk back 15 min.... the tank was replaced.... for $70

Irregardless of service level, if it is not for the warranty, I would not want to go back to PML

Oh yeah man - that Vasaloo is an ass. He is the only indian SA at Kampung Arang right. If that is the one - he should get an award. Best PML Kok sucker int eh entire company.

I went thru the exact same shiet with jeff telling me my warranty is void here and there. The mods here and there and the lack of serviing at PML voids the warranty as well. I am pissed. Is there any difference at all in serving in PML or outside? unbelievable...
