Blackvue?

I would like to take this opportunity to compliment the support of Blackvue's official distributor.

I installed 2 sets of DR400 a few months ago from 833motosports (Bro st8800 recommendation, one of the authorised dealers) and recently I noticed the footage become foggy and I suspect the overheating issue.

I drop by 833 and after checking w the distributor, the boss arranged for me to exchange to the newer DR400 II (brand new set), no questions asked. I was told the newer design has improved the overheating issue. I also notice the footage is even clearer now. The product may have some problems but at least the support made it a painless experience.

Bro, the BV2 also cannot solve the heating issue...maybe now coming end of the year, the weather is cooler so its better...but do monitor...

That's what I heard as well....

Re: Blackvue?

can anyone share how is the blackvue installed? does it involve alot of wiring and it taps on to the car battery? I am v afraid of all the internal wiring and that may mess up the car.

noob question...any blackvue or car cams out there using batteries instead? So if low batt, just recharge externally and it is a loose unit, not so much on installing with the whole wiring and cabling.

Thanks!

Re: Blackvue?

the earlier post mentioned it is going for $299. of cos thats a good or better deal if it is the same model. haha..
does it come with installation?

"DR 400II is about $299.90."

Re: Blackvue?

It is without installation.. I thinking if more ppl are interested, maybe can start a group buy & ask for discount from supplier.. Anybody keen?

Re: Blackvue?

Let me know how many pax needed. I can try to help source ard. Alternatively, I have another offer for something similar...right ac323? :)

Re: Blackvue?

Just wanna share my experience with my BV2 so far. Installed it since Oct'12 and its working under the hot sun almost everyday. The BV2 runs extremely hot, so hot that when I try to remove the micro SDCard, the heat inflicts pain on my fingers. Despite the heat, the BV2 is still working fine today.

Re: Blackvue?

Think you guys are wasting time doing a group buy. If the BlackVue is $300 already how much lower do you think it'll go? Next thing a new version comes out at $450 and the whole cycle repeats.

Every week we read about incident threads where everyone agrees "better go and install asap" and meantime you have guys waiting for group buys to save what, $30?

The low-resolution type used in taxis is around $80 by the way. Group buy?

Re: Blackvue?

I checked with the supplier, S$270 each with 1 year warranty from supplier.. Min order 20 sets.. Distributor selling S$430 with 1 year warranty then have a bro intro me another supplier selling S$380 with 6 months warranty.. So is it worth for me to organise the group buy? How many ppl interested & how many sets? Maybe if there is interest, I will organise as I wanted to buy 2 sets..
