Hi all Bros, just bought an E90. Anyone can share which engine oil grade/brand PML and Munich is using?
Car still under warranty so boh pian need to go back when due.

I saw this in a supermarket. Maybe they using this.

Not all oil leaks are the same. I top up 1L EO per 1500km and have suspected that the valve guide seals were having issues. However, there is no visible smoke coming out from my exhaust. Other than EO loss, no other symptoms. Just brought to WS for a diagnosis and they have spotted a leaking vacuum pump and rocker gaskets. Will probably have these fixed first and continue to monitor oil levels.

Read up all that I could on vacuum pump leaks but still not getting answers on this part. I've seen the oil stains there but I'm still not that certain that a vacuum pump leak would cause oil loss of 1L per 1500km with no other symptoms. No oil stains on ground, no smoke under bonnet, no smoke from exhaust... nothing. Where does the oil go? Into the brake boosters?

My engine oil indicator goes to +1 and then OK sometimes.
Not sure what type of engine oil to top up with, as I just gotten the car a few weeks back, only travel about 1500 KM.
Any suggestions?

If its PML serviced car use Shell Helix.

These BMW oil meets only BMW LL-98 standard. New car uses LL-01 standard.

Hi experienced bros, may I confirm you wait till oil bar at MIN mark then you top-up 1L. I've been watching my oil bar steadily dropping since oil change. It remained at MAX for the first 2k which gave me some hope but now at 3k+ it is 1/4 distance away from MIN :

1L top when it hits minimum based on the manual. Also mentions that you have within 200km to do this...........

Check the heel nut, heat exchanger, vanos solenoid areas for signs of black dirt accumulation. This black dirt is a sign on oil leak and dirt get stuck on the oil. My car had leaks at the heel nut and vanos solenoid. Under tray was basically an oil pond
