Dear G30 owners,
I have been contemplating to get a used 528i (5yrsold). But have been dissuaded instead to get a new 530 from PI.
However, with all the horror stories of PI closing shop, no warranty support, re-call issue... that has also make the decision harder.
Any suggestions for a decent PI to start my hunt? So far my fren had recommended VxxC@r, which they offered the followings. (For shairng purpose, if any warriors out there hunting for G30 beast from PI)
However, the issue is that the warranty does not cover parts. Which I think is as good as telling me I am on my own if there are any issues with the car during warranty period. Therefore, I have to strike it off the list.
1 Bid Gteed coe, No Top up Rebate 43K

3Years or 100000km for warranty at MBM wheelpower
Labour FOC for 3 years, but Parts chargable.
My sincere apologies if the above sharing is not permitted in this forum.
Agree with Kelvin but I am assuming you are torn between saving the money and getting from PI or go the safe route and get from PML? Lets try to break it down. Sorry for repeat some of points from previous postsHi Poppy,
Welcome to G30 forum, I must say that is a great choice to go for G30.
Here's my personal opinion for your consideration.
In fact this is my second PI car, first was F10 and now G30.
- First pls go for reputable PI and be really careful of impossibly great deal, as it's usually impossible.
- Check around to benchmark the pricing to get the right prices.
- Usually first 3yrs warranty/100,000km (whichever come first) for manufacturing defects, all parts are covered but not ware and tear.
-I personally experienced bad manufacturing parts previously and the claim was process smoothly. Usually the PI will provide a very clear list of parts that falls within manufacturer defects coverage(make sure you will get this b4 u buy)
- Usually what you see on the piece of paper is not what you get, it's better to see the physical car.
- get them to sign acknowledgement of what you are getting as some friends had bad experience, that's why people usually want to buy ex-STK, what u see is what u get,
- they told u Navi-pro, make sure it's SEA map, or they will give u the imported country map and asked for $$$ to localize the map.
Good luck on your hunt for your G30, if you reference of my PI, please PM me. Cheers!

Thanks guys!
I think this is the only forum which gets well informed inputs regardsing to buying from PI.
Many of my pals are dead against PI. Asking me why I risk buying from PI for a car that cost above $200K.
If I were to go for G30, I will likely to go for PI. So long there is no recall of issues relating to Gearbox, enginer and other critical electronics.. I think the rest are manageable.
But the biggest hurdle is getting the blessing from my CO to proceed with the purchase.
Coming from not so well off background, the thinking it that we should always remain humble and not overspend on luxury and depreciating items even though we can afford it... Jin Jialat!!!
Thanks again guys for the valueable information. Hope you guys enjoy your ride! And be safe and healthy!
Just order a PI G30 and I think its really about doing your homework because different PI really carry different specced car. In my case, I self discover that it doesn't come with the tech package so no display key, no remote parking, no gesture control, no 360 degree view of car (I think) etc. Asking the SE is pointless as well because compare to AD's SE, when it comes to such additional options they are quite clueless as well.
Pobby_toy I think you should ask again on the warranty package because I recall the PI you went to does cover engine, gearbox and those critical components during their warranty period. Similar to AD, wear and tear is not inclusive for parts replacement. My last 2 cars are from AD so I won't place too much faith in their aftersales support as well. In the end I have a happier experience sending them to specialist workshops outside for maintenance and repairs.
WelcomeHaha but I haven't collect my ride yet.. mine is a 530i sophisto grey.. no lux no M. Lol

Good idea.
How's this for a suggestion?
<Purpose / Action>
A 2017 year initiative, to do something simple for the elderly.
Interested members no matter 2-3 or 5-10 members, meet at a common supermarket, on the last Saturday of each month (for 5mths), with small budget of $10/pax.
Buy some can food or biscuits together, and let's all drive down to a old folks' home and pass it to them?
After that, head down to the nearest coffee shop for a short 30mins chill out session.
<Possible Issues>
1) With that comes the question of budget, choice of old folks home, etc.
Perhaps create a small list of 5 old folks home (1 for each month till the end of the year).
1x North, 1x South, 1x East, 1x West, 1x Central?
2) For budget, let's keep it neutral, and we open the budget to any amount (as a suggestive guideline, maybe $10 +/-).
3) For attendee, whoever can make it goes, since it's a chance to meet up and a opportunity to do something for the elderly.
What do you think?
But to keep a open mind, as it's basically a meet-up with a charity purpose?
