Re: Garmin GPS
T6:
I've considered every conceivable location for it, and where I put it now is where Iike it the best. It's a bit big to be squashed on the right together with the IU. Also, a clear view of the right front corner of the car is important to me. The central location bothers me the least. Everyone will probably have their own preference.

My reasons are:
1) I have 5 Apple computers but 0 Windows computer
2) I wanna be able to talk/SMS, check my schedule/contacts, use my speakerphone AND use GPS at the same time
3) I personally feel the HP 6515 is too broad to hold and use (I played with my friend's)
4) I like Garmin cos there is a large international Garmin enthusiast community and you can download many useful maps for free. Even S'pore and Malaysia ones which according to most users, are better than any non-Garmin map you can buy.

I know the problem. It bugs me as well, but looking at it logically, it would not be very feasible for Garmin to make every single possible route available as there would be thousands for each trip and it would take too long to browse through all of them and choose.
Anyway, there are 2 options you can choose from: "Fastest" or "Shortest". You can also enable avoidances like U-turns and expressways. So far, whatever routes the device suggested have worked very well.
