Got my iPod hooked up to my car's sound system yesterday. From the threads I read, I gathered there are a number of bimmer owners who are interested in connecting their iPods. Here are some pics I took.
I found only one place suitable for mounting the iPod but as you can see from the picture, the iPod cannot be seen from the driver's seat. Bit of compromise I had to make. At least it's within easy reach; just had to control myself from fiddling with it while driving. can be addictive....
You can also see from the first photo that my stop-gap solution of using the cassette to link up my iPod is now relegated to the front door pocket. When inserted into the head unit, that thing has a long white wire dangling out to the iPod, totally uncool when driving topless....heh
P.S. - I have a pre-amp and amps installed in the car.....I didn't go the iPod-BMW route....song selection and volume controls still done on the iPod, not from the original BMW head unit. See post #13 in this thread for details....
