My sheep-skin mitt from the old SpaForCars days is disintegrating, anyone knows where I can get a replacement locally?

How long have you use your sheep-skin? My experience with sheep skin are bad, really not durable..

Re: Look here if u like shiny black car!

Is there a specific technique for claybar?

For example, how does not claybar? With one hand holding a hose with water coming out and clar bar or just make sure there is soap on the car and clay bar and what... no idea..

And in some stores there is the 99 brand or something like that which say that they have two types of clar bar... one for ebony and one for ivory. (Or is it one for the blacks and the other for the ang moh?) According to the brand... black car use one type and white or lighter colours use another.. got such thing?

one hand hold a spray bottle either with a detailer or a diluted shampoo, zaino z-7 etc.. lubricate the area first, then as u clay, keep spraying to lubricate the surface generously. the clay should glide over the paintwork easily and smoothly, if you feel that there's resistance or the clay is sticking to the paintwork, u need to lubricate it more, otherwise it would scratch. some little "bumps" is normal as it means the clay is picking up dirt...but the overall gliding should be very 'slippery'.

check for dirt on the clay every now and then, and fold it over when it starts to get dirty. if you drop it, chuck it, dun reuse.

as for 99, not very sure as i have never tried it. the zaino one works pretty well for me...

Re: Look here if u like shiny black car!

Apart from using spray bottle, another way is to use your wash mitt to gently wipe the panel den clay the area with the shampoo solution left behind. There are different aggressive level of clay bars and both soft99 clay bars that you mention are least aggressive and suitable for frequent usage..

Re: Look here if u like shiny black car!

Thanks for all the inputs, everyone!

Recently, saw got 3m clay bars.

But I am curious as to why the soft99 has one clay bar I think for dark cars the other is for light cars? Why the distinction? When u glide it.. the car won't know the difference nor how different is the composition of the colours?

Re: Look here if u like shiny black car!

Sorry dude, no idea what is the main reason for the different color code also.. Other brands use colour code for different aggressive level, not sure izzit the same for soft99..

depends on what brands you are looking for.. carrefour u can probably get meguair's, which is quite overrated in my opinion. zaino u can try DiyGurus or autorage. i get mine from diygurus because it's more convenient for me. as for the more premium waxes, it's more limited in singapore. swissvax probably only car-do, zymol bronze-carman/carworks etc.. good way would be to go A world for detailers... and check out what the people use and what might work for you. then set out to look for that product. otherwise you would look lost just standing in front of those shelves and not knowing what to look out for specifically. my 2 cts..
