I'm in the recruitment industry and let me tell you, Dealing with MOM trying to bring someone in is not easy at all. I do not think the government handles them with silk gloves at all. Most of the "precious" impression come from haters and if you're any objective in forming your own opinion, you should not be thinking about it this way while wearing tinted glasses.
As you mentioned something about crimes rates, I don't deny we've been seeing a rise in crimes unusual for Singaporeans to commit but that doesn't mean that Singaporeans don't commit them. Everytime we read the news on crimes, many people automatically label them as FW/FT, is that fair? And when it is finally revealed that they are Singaporean, any of those commentators have any form of remorse or apology? No... It's always about bashing first.
As for the willingness of FT/FW to integrate... There are some indeed are refusing or being refused to integrate but I have personally met many who tries very hard to integrate and a number of them really do succeed.
Let's just be more forgiving and accepting.
