i think the Mata up against 400 rioters without firing a shot and kept the situtation under control is really a good job. think about what will happen if our neighbouring Mata will do to this situation? i remember there was a demonstration at KL not long ago, gun shots fired, many protesters injured bcos of heavy handed strategy employed by mal government... thing could be alot more worse ...

Maybe they have watched the mata mata show.... first Bus drivers strike, now riots, whats next? Seems like we are back to the 50s & 60s.

actually.... quite scary.... mob mentality at its best last night.... literally and figuratively speaking.
heard from a friend whose younger brother was one of the SCDF personnel who were trying to extricate the trapped persons in the government vehicles... while doing his job, they kena stoned by the angry riotous mob...
yet in the face of adversity, the SPF showed restraint and did not use deadly force else things might have spiraled further out of control.

We are all educated individuals, even we react to rumors and start ranting and post countless threads complaining based on rumors. Imagine a group of low paid poorly educated individuals who hears rumors in a charged environment, I am sure we can understand why they lost control of their emotions Its the mob mentality...I think the first respondents didn't expect the extent of the problem. Once again I must say I am impressed by the restrain shown by the police.
