He will flourish at OT, just like Cantona.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

SAF just confirm that Nasri not going to ManU.
Wonder what's next for this story ...

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Looks like modric going to Chelsea

Sneider........

35 million or more lei!
I doubt SAF will pay especially after buying 3 players.
Who else?

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

How can ManU buy Sneider? Printing money??

Anyway, an extract from Arsene Wenger's interview. Makes some sense

You think that it is worth more to have Samir for one more season and risk losing him on a Bosman free next summer than to cash in now?
Yes.

That could be construed as a £20m gamble?
[Smiling.] You are the same people who reproach me for not spending money and now you reproach me for wanting to spend it! It is in the interests of the club. Fábregas is in no man's land ... Imagine the worst situation, that we lose Fábregas and Nasri; you cannot convince people that you are ambitious after that. And even if you lose Nasri, to find the same quality player, you have to spend again the same amount of money because you cannot say you lose the player and you do not replace him. And the other clubs who come to take him have scouts all over the world as well but if they come to us for our player ...

U can make him stay another year but can u motivate him in that year?
is a lose lose for arsenal.

Thats a valid point. It's a gamble, like spending money on a new player. If we accept $20m for him, the problem for Arsenal would be who can be buy that is of the same skill level and is worth only $20m? Players like Andy Carrol already going for $35m.

I suppose Nasri playing at 75% motivation may be equal to a new player with 100% commitment at redline level but skills not as good and also needs time to gel with the team.
Tough choice.

I think Young is better valued, becos cheaper by 3M.
In terms of playing abilities, lets wait and see how each performs on 15th Oct 2011.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

young is younger, less injury prone, england international and 3m cheaper.
