I used to think that Joey Barton should go to Arsenal on a free transfer....not anymore.

I don't think that are many managers/clubs that would take him. Definately not Arsenal now. He's a trouble-maker and would cause problems in the dressing room. I'd rather pay NOT to have him.

Lose captain! Of cos... Very malu!

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

losing fabregas to barca is not only a loss to Arsenal..but in a way to BPL as well..

not digging at any Arsenal fans here..but somehow, as non-Arsenal fan, as much as I hate them, I do kinda reminisce and memorized by the former Arsenal team - where Henry, Berkamp, Vieira, Pires, Ljunberg, Campbell etc.. led the team to an unprecedented unbeatable season run. Nb..Fabregas was still a young punk polishing Henry boots back then..

..barca juz keep getting stronger..#$%!@#[email protected] Spain goes default..

Losing Cesc mainly because we haven't found a worthy replacement. Torres was replaced by 2 players, Carrol & Suarez.

Well hopefully Ramsey & Wilshere can live up to their potentials ASAP.

If we can get Juan Mata, Arsenal wouldn't be that bad..but it's a really big if.

Arsenal is on a quick decline now, no in-demand player in the right mind would go to Arsenal now unless a lot of money is put on the table....and we know Wenger is a stingy manager.

Only Wenger has himself to blame for the current predicament. Should have bought players when Arsenal's star was still shining. In 2007-2009 players wanted to come to Arsenal, but Arsenal doesn't want to pay. Now players don't want to come to Arsenal, and we have to entice them by offering above valuation.

Both are sad at point of sale.
There will always be much debate when key players go.
But it turns out that Torres was ably replaced by Suarez last season.

Arsenal has seen Viera, Overmars and Pires go.
Liverpool coped w Torres, Rush, Owen.
Man U sold arrogant Ronaldo.
When a void is there, somebody else will step up.

Yes, there is no denying the lucrative salary increase plays a part that he stays. If he really wants to leave, don't you think the likes of Real Madrid can offer him much more?
On the other hand, if Arsenal would to do likewise and offer fabregas with lucrative salary increase, I seriously dont think he will stay. Why? Because his heart is not with Arsenal. Period....

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

I agree w you Optimus.
the writing was on the wall long ago.
Fab wanting to go.
The same was w Torres. his body language, he was uninterested, all tell tale signs.
but i respect Fab n Torres becos they left for sporting reasons.

but i feel that Looney doing a JohnTerry and blackmail his own club that way is scandalous.
morally, i will be devastated if my son did the same.

Fab had international team mates / childhood friends from his boyhood club whoring him for the last 2 seasons...of course his heart is not at Arsenal. It's a foregone conclusion he would leave Arsenal to go to Barca..and only Barca.

I wonder why Ronaldo left Man U?

How about tomorrow/Thursday? Des, Jon, Mark, Kenn -- can you guys make it too?

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Actually the main reason Rooney couldnt and wouldnt want to leave ManU was because he was madly in love with the old prostitute.
