The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

As a Pool fan, hope Pool loses to prevent Man U getting their 19th. Hopefully Pool reorg themselves next season ... no Champion League, no Europa distraction. Bayern Munich lost out playing Champion League one season (I think), then reorg and come back stronger. Hope Pool do a Munich!

for the intergity and honestly of the league... but i belived the players wanted to win,
but not sure abt the fans...

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

I think in this instance, Pool will not walk alone. Almost all other clubs fans are walking with Pool fans, except for Man U fans who are walking alone.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

this situation is quite similar to the incident the year Blackburn Rovers piped Man U to the EPL title in 1995.

That year, it was final game of the EPL, and it was
Liverpool vs Blackburn, West Ham vs Man U.
if we had beaten Blackburn, and Man U wins at West Ham, Man U will clinch the title again, as they were playing a relatively straightforward
they game expected to win, at West Ham.
Liverpool supporters like me, were in a spot....do we root for a win and see Man U crowned champs again?
or celebrate even if we lost the blackburn game, as we had 'hindered' Man U's title race?

I felt sick in the stomach, after Jamie Redknapp bent his freekick past the wall into Tim Flowers's net to make the score 2-1, in LIverpool's favour....for we might have ended Jack Walker's dream and handed Man U a lifeline.

But the someone re-wrote the script, :naughty: and Man U can only draw at West Ham, thus making our defeat of Blackburn irrelevant. :shakebon:
Blackburn won the EPL crown.

so, lets root for a Liverpool win, for there is no guarantee Man U will win against Stoke and Sunderland.

tio bo?

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Unfortunately, even if Pool wanna play for whatever pride blah blah... they will still most likely be outclassed by chelski... badass benitez

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Imho Pool should be worrying about getting 4th spot instead of whether manu wins title or not. ManC has to play spurs n villa so there's still a slim chance.
Pool beat Chelski get 4th spot + manu win title or Pool looses to Chelski, miss out on 4th spot + Chelski get title? Which one does pool fans prefer? :D

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

the season is gone as far as I'm concerned.....
4th place is no longer up to us, depends on the other results as well.

I would root for Liverpool to win all remaining games,
and whether Man U wins the crown or not, depends on their fate liao.
a club with the devil as their club logo, tsk tsk tsk. will surely trip one day.
Stoke and Sunderland go go go!

my key concern is whether the yankees will be out by end season or not, and the new owners to hand up a nice transfer kitty!

Pride or no pride, i just hope Liverpool will go all out to win chelsea.
Im now only hoping for a good change on the owners and thus giving Benitez good budget for purchases. Whether Benitez stays, is another issue. I hope moanrinio will come "if" Benitez leaves....

Symbolic only lah !!!

When my ex GF said she is a devil on bed, I did not expect two horns and a tail........ figuratively speaking only.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

some ppl keep saying that if liverpool beat chelsea, they will hand the title to Man U. I think this undermines the effort of manu and chelsea over the other 37 games. Liverpool have to be professional and beat chelsea even if the game has no meaning for them by sat as spurs would have beaten bolton. If man u win the league its credit to their effort over the season. As for 4th place i hope anyone but man city gets it bc if man city get the 4th place then another chelsea will be born.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

man city or spurs

their first season in champion league will be whipping boys.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

man city have unlimited funds, with the cl lure they can get better players + with chelsea liverpool n man u getting poorer n weaker, they could actually be in the title race next year.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

if man utd win this year, SAF can retire immediately and mourinhno can take over next season

SAF too sentimental to hold on to gary neville, and paul scholes.
hopefully the two owens can be injury free then is like 2 new players for man utd.

LOL yeah, and MU still have to win their final two games. By no means sure things give their dependence on Rooney this season. Afterall MU could only manage a draw against Sunderland the last time out.

It's just that it has come to this situation after 36 matches. I haven't forgotten that MU lost to relegated Burnley at Turf Moor and got whipped 0-3 by Fulham at Craven Cottage. If they do not win this season, they only have themselves to blame for not securing matches like these.

I hope that the Liverpool players have pride and will go all out for a good result / win.

Not sure if Mourhino will go to Anfield.......
