of cos i empathise....my dad was a taxi driver. i empathise more than most people think. i just pity the chaps making comments that show the world that even as we grow to become a more affluent nation, we still hv morons who do not seem to hv moved on....exhibiting totally neanderthal rationales to justify their short comings.
i think FT bashing is becoming a fad. speak at the polls....or hv u?

Not siding Sg or FT, I empathise Sg and the FT, but I don't give a damn about decendents, ancestors, forefathers. All I care about is now, the problem right now in the society. Influx is too fast, Singaporeans dont like it, FTs dont like to be treated badly and bashed too, so gov can do something, its whether they want or not and how fast can they put off the fire.

Why is it always about the government doing something? If you don't like certain things, why can't you be the one coming out with solutions instead of complaining about the existing problems. I will idolise you if you can think of a solution to curb this influx. The world is always moving, Singapore is a very small place and our ricebowls are dependent on the economy that is now being fuelled by foreigners. If you want your kids to have food on their plates and have schools to go to, then don't keep bashing the FTs. Instead, if you can, run for some office and if you have some good ideas, I will give you my full support.
Sorry if I sound harsh but every country has it's problems like every family does. We have to stay united and not fall apart. We have to provide solutions instead of creating problems. We have to show support to encourage instead of bashing everyone down. Can you be absolutely sure that you have not benefitted a litte bit from our economy expanding with bringing FTs in?

im not too much for FT. n i dun think the govt really care two hoot about how singaporeans feel....but my problem is that rather than do better..we choose to go about bashing FTs at every opportunity. no wonder!

If i go to an expensive restaurant and i get servef mediocre food, isn't it within my rights to demand something better or to "complain"? Your view now is that the only solution to this problem is to open my own restaurant instead of getting the head chef to do something about his food which we paid good money for. Not everyone knows how to run a restaurant or cook like a master, but we will sure know it when we get served rotten food.

For those who can afford 2 or more properties to lease to FTs, yes, they have benefited from them whom helped to pay for mortgage or generated extra passive income.
For those who only make ends meet, I cannot see how they have benefited but rather being marginalized.
