this is e self-proclaim MRS specialist dealer. i wont write into details as e whole ordeal s too long; 8 days! but a few points for fellow forumers to note when dealing w a dealer, esp this one!!!

a few points tat i learnt from the CARZ AUTOMOBILE when i was selling my MRS to them since last thursday, 07/04/2011:

- they wanted to collect my car yesterday n today, without paying me my leftover money after doing full settlement. only said to pay us 7 days after handing my car to them.

- luckily still got my car now, but refuse to return my IC, push from one person to another.

- went to KRANJI CAMP III to collect IC from tat self-proclaimed specialist VICTOR, made me waited 90mins outside e camp, avoiding my more than 30++ missed calls.

- eventually called back dealer company main line, wanted to speak to the boss SAMUEL, but clerk JOEY said this case got nothing to do w their company (purchase agreement no. 0164), but to deal w Victor personally.

anyway, i've jus made police report on their refusal to return my IC, n i ll get THE NEW PAPER to advertise for them next week.

for e benefit of every consumers, pls help to post tis in as many forums tat u know, so others wont be cheated!
jus be careful when dealing w dealers!

Be careful bro..

Some of the agents are ok.. those that I've dealt with are fast and sincere..

You're in evo forum too right? :juggle:

Re: Beware of this Car Dealer

panaracer, I know a forummer here who is a broker and he helped me with the sale of my car. Swee swee one, hand car key over on the spot u get your cashier order. (most dealers also this way.) if u need his contact let me know, cheers.

Re: Beware of this Car Dealer

if you apply for the LTA pin, you need not give your IC to a stranger to register your car anymore. The whole purpose of this pin thingy is to circumvent this illogical practice. I believe you can go onemotoring to check it out.

Re: Beware of this Car Dealer

honestly i don't really understand how they tried to cheat/trick you. can you elaborate more for my/our knowledge?

cheers!

Sorry to hear that. Hope it does not go into complications.
I had my fair share of negative experience with dealers (or so-called claimed to be dealers):

Just beware when 'dealers' call you up when you advertise your car. Quite some years back (perhaps two 'cars' ago), I decided to sell my car online before buying one. 'Dealer' came down, gave me his business card, seems like a nice guy, chatted and talked about unscruplous acts of certain dealers (i know it seems contradictory now), gave a good offer and I accepted the offer. Gave him my IC to complete LTA pin (no issues on this and i did get my IC back). Told me that he will complete full settlement with bank two days later and I can then pass the car to him. Two days later, he handed me a hardcopy of a bank fax, saying full settlement 'done', and pass me a cashier cheque (balance after full settlement). Perhaps everything happen too fast and I was too trusting, and I happily go home after. Next few days later, when I supposedly 'cool down', started to enact everything and then "sh*t"..

Positives: I have IC back, balance cheque cleared.
Negatives: My name was still registered with my 'ex' car for two weeks. I called up to ask why wasn't the name transferred instantly. Dealer replied that there is an instant buyer on hand, and transferring straight to the buyer will help save the transaction fees and so that he can save the interests from obatining a loan from credit firms to pay up the settlement. My next question: If he is a dealer, surely he has company cash to fall back on? One call to LTA to ascertain if he is a registered auto dealer in Singapore, and yes, as I guess it, he is not an authorised dealer. This also meant that if he indeed paid up the settlement, he will have to transfer the car deed to his name. The fact that he is not an authorized dealer with LTA basically meant that he will automatically be the next 'owner' in the car deed. In short, if I am 1st owner, dealer will be 2nd owner, and next buyer will be 3rd owner... Only a authorized dealer has a safety window with the car ownership (I think is 3 months). The bank fax that he showed me basically served as only a notification tha that the bank have had received the request from my dealer that he will pay the settlement within 20 days. This simply meant that the dealer has been informed by bank, but is not legally bounded, to pay the bank within 20 days. Further check with peers revealed that he is actually in the finance/credit business, basically in a middle-man business of making quick transactions (matching available car with buyer or dealer profiles), and offering wicked financing deals to buyers who can't get loans from well-known banks.
Well, he eventually made the settlement and did transfer my name (but it was to a car dealer). So he is not entirely honest about the whole deal or his credentials, but at least the positive is that he did (or perhaps reluctantly) complete the deal after 2.5 week albeit my consistent calls and even visits to his so-called office.

Lesson learnt: Check credentials of dealer from LTA (registered dealer?) and run company check using online to ascertain existence of company. If dealer is not a authorized auto dealer, then you should shed at least 50% off the confidence scale because you know that he will try all means not to get his/her name as the next owner in the car deed = your name is on your ex- ride as long as there is no buyer. Unless, of course, he/she is willing to sell it to a real dealer who is going to take it at a lower price = no profit or negative profit for the fake dealer.

Sorry for the long rant, but hope my lesson learnts will help others in their dealings with so-called dealers. cheers

Re: Beware of this Car Dealer

I dun think every dealer are the same. I use to drive a MRS and I am a used car dealer. Recently bought a BMW from a forummer. Everything Was transfer, Seller Recieved cashier order. I have do a few consignment from BMW forummer too. Most of them recommend one by one to me. I have heard alot of story from victor too. forummer from MRS club approach him to sell the car. He trying to earn some profit and mark up the price. End up Seller cant sell the vehicle. Forummer start to approach i sold the car within 4 days with my direct buyer. Just becareful when deal with dealer, but i dont think all dealer is the same. I owe BMW oso. Bought From mybmmer.
