Dealing with PML aftersales is a pain the arse

Re: Dealing with PML aftersales is a pain the arse

I do have a question for all, do pml normally issue loan cars to owners if they send in their car in for warranty or installation issues?

i believe these are somewhat guidelines (in priority)

you guys should count yourself lucky...

my "courtesy cars" were blue hyundai aka comfort delgro taxis! yes, they didn't have any courtesy cars for me when my car was kept with them for more than 2 days. was offered 2 comfort delgro taxi vouchers only! though the quantity was subsequently increase on the 2nd day.

fortunately, the problem is solved. at least it seems....

Seems like PML is running out of BMW courtesy cars due to large number of "Lemons".

Perhaps. I'm just saying, the whole episode may be frustrating but don't let it get the better of us. That is all.

Re: Dealing with PML aftersales is a pain the arse

Well, I've had my fair share of BMW car-cock-ups - usually, thankfully, it will only take about a day to fix or resolve - eg. faulty hydraulics (the boot self-closing feature has been acting up on the F02). However, when I had a particularly bad - and I mean BAD - case of engine troubles, I did receive a 1-for-1 courtesy car (F02 for F02) until they resolved my problem. But, I believe that was a unique case - my F02 was less than a month old - for all intents & purposes, brand new.

Usually, I have to utilize my 7PP+ privileges to get a 'loan' car - we're allowed 'extended test drives' of cars like the Z4, 335 convertible etc for 3 days, and this ties in nicely with the times the F02 has to be in the service bay.

Of course, my SE has the cheek to tell me yesterday that my "courtesy car" will be my 640i, when the F02 goes in to get the self-closing boot issued rectified, KNN...

Really hope it gets sorted soon man. We've heard too many horror stories :furious:

Re: Dealing with PML aftersales is a pain the arse

No bro, it's because they sold me a defective product! My F02 gave me engine troubles in the 1st month of ownership, so they had to fix it. Bang table hard enough until they finally listened. I'm sure there's a table somewhere in PML's meeting rooms with my King King Buddha Lotus 18 Dragon Slapping Palm imprint on it.

Re: Dealing with PML aftersales is a pain the arse

i think mine ultimate. send car to PML to fix ac. they fixed the ac (or so it seems). but they also converted my windscreen waterspray to intercooler spray. so nice of them even though the 523 doesn't have a intercooler.

Re: Dealing with PML aftersales is a pain the arse

PML gave me a 120i courtesy car when I send in my E90 for defects works, installation of performance exhaust.. Told them I cant work without a ride..

It take afew days for them to arrange but at least better than no courtesy car?

Cheers ~~ :)

Re: Dealing with PML aftersales is a pain the arse

similar experience when i send in my e89 Z4 for a creaking noise in the roof...sibei irritating, louder than the engine. Sent in like twice for 2 weeks and they claimed it was solved but end day still the same, and dont even wanna mention about courtesy car, their reply was "if you want courtesy car, can, need to wait for 3 - 6 months...." well the car was sold before the 6 months was up...anyway does MA still provide taxi vouchers? The last time i went like never give le, or must "ask"?

Just collected car back from PML... initial impressions are superb!

1) Steering grining sound gone... finally! fingers crossed!!
2) engine idle low tone tok... tok.. tok sound gone ( i have taken it all along that the 535i is not a strawberry ride and accepted it as such).. now this is strawberry...

this could be a placebo... but the steering seems to be more "connected" to the road now... or it could be the switch from 520 with 17" wheels

The car is now much quieter now that I am begining to appreciate the car's wonderful exhaust note.

So i can only come to the conclusion pml have the skillsets and knowhow to get the job done but due to huge population of bmws they have to service they cannot give everyone the due attention. So the million and one dollor question is how do you get their attention.
