Would like to update on the fix for my 2 month old E90 FL.

Problems
1) Garmin GPS Hissing Sound (Common Problem in New E90)
2) Left Indicator Light Failed (Common Problem in New E90)
3) Drive side window emits Creaking sound when winding down

Fix
1) Change the radio unit which would work with the Garmin GPS
2) Change the indicator light
3) Not sure what they did but problem solve

Duration: 2 days with Replacement car provided (Got a Camry from Hertz at Alex)

That's new. I was told their loan cars are 118i. Do you collect and return the replacement car at Alex workshop too?

They ran out of replacement cars. Seems like there are alot of owners with problems and its the ones which they would offer replacement cars(Serious issues?).

The SE walked me over to hertz when i send my car in. I return the car to hertz and walk to Alex workshop. I think that you can actually drop it off at the Alex workshop if you want.

I had some issues which I need to resolve with Hertz (Faulty ERP reader when I pass thru the gantry) so I went to Hertz directly.

Hope that this helps. Demand for replacement car if there is an issue with your new ride and dun take no for an answer. You know that they can offer the Hertz fleet to you.

Besides 118, nowadays they also use 320 as replacement car.

I know because my neighbour's new e90 always go home to PML.

I'm not sure, you guys can try - say you have a kid and you need to send kid to school - might be easier for you to get replacement car.

hi, I got this icon on my instrumental panel

it is yellow in colour

does it mean my steering column is due for change?

Mileage: 75000
Ownership: 2.6years
Parts changed under warranty;
1. Driver's seat belt - not able to pull down
2. Steering wheel - horn faulty
3. Front doors handle and armrest - leather peeling off
4. Engine oil pan - oil slugde
5. Gearbox gasket - leakage
6. Friction tape on doors - prevent squeaking noise (add-on)
7. Software upgrade - to change OCI to 12k instead of original 25k

Hi Pal,

Can share where to buy this and how to install. I just took over a pre own e90 and whenever i go pass humps or uneven surfaces, there's slight rattling sound from back doors..

The friction taps were installed by PML under warranty....

44K, 320i 2 yrs 2 mths .. so far, fixed squeaky windows, squeaky front seat, rocker head leaking, changed aircon front lourve knob and driver side hnadle due to comestic. But last week , I would said heavy stuff .. Cycliner head , oil pan and vacuum pump leaks !!! and Suspension giving out loud creaking noise ... thot stabiliser or some bushing crack , but can not find any .. now suspect is the suspension. Anybody experience this problem before ? Though most are still under warranty .. the car down time in workshop (utlization effieciency) is unbelievable ..

BTW, was told that you need to book the replacement drive .. the queue is very long , 3 months long .. BS .. frankly, I think they have a priority system ..

I had this squeaking noise coming from dashboard of front passenger side, after returning to PML 3 times in a week, they finally solved the problem by replacing the left suspension. You may want PML to check for oil stain in the suspension.

I believed the majority of the forum guys/gals are driving the E90/E92 here.

This Thread is to keep track of the repairs/replacement parts done on your E90 / E92 facing during your ownership of the ride.

It will let the owner knows what may need to change in the near future or distance future.

Oil change, sparks plug, all filter, tyres, brakes rotors and brake pads not included as this is considered wear and tear.

Let me start with mine.

Model: E90 320i
Mileage: 92,000km
Years of ownership: 3 years 2 months

Parts replaced:
Water hoses
Oil Sump Gasket
Valtronic E Motor
Oil Seals
Doors alternator (Failed twice)
Gear Box (Warranty claim from PML)

Future Parts replacement:
Water Pump
Fuel Pump
O2 sensor

Let's us share what else you guys/gals changed. The above parts are faulty and needs to be replaced. It is all done at a 3rd party good workshop with good pricing and workmanship.

I still love my car, good drive no doubt and I believe a good maintenance on the car will see it live a long way and serve you well.

but bmw's are like that one,not just for e90. stuff u nvr knew existed also can fail

well, cars are meant to be driven and not stored in garage... haha.

A well maintained car will serve you well........

How come just changed the left ?
They acknowledged the noise from my right suspension, however , not very sure on what the problem.. they changed both left/right suspension for me.

i just got my 318i...........actually really please with every thing......but after reading so much!!!
i abit paranoid liao,,,,,,,,,,,, just hope (made in germany) will last longer till the 4th yrs before i change.
but still worth the ride lar bros.... but from now on just look after the mileage( to prevent waer and tear) and park in shelter( to prevent rubber and plastic hardered)...

Mayb i could give u a ride in my E39. Whenever i m driving alone, i drove it like i stole it. That's the kick out of BMW.

Was told this is wear and tear after 2 years...but it doesn look like wear and tear to me

my E90 side mats(driver's side) are wet. when checked, the area is dry. Dun know where the water comes from. Anyone can help to identify?
