F10 528i mods and maintenance (Pics)

Hi Rssid are you running on stock brakes too? If yes, what are your opinions on stage 2 tune with stock brakes?

Yes stock brakes. No issue I don't drive like an asshole that's number 1.
Monster 535 doesn't require oversized BBK to stop its 306HP near 2 ton kerb weight, so brake with confidence on your stock brakes.
If you'd like to help your stopping power, get new rotors and better pads and think about stainless steel brake hoses and a brake fluid refresh.
BBK only helps reduce brake fade which means only if your car sees track use where repeated hard braking is done and only looks cosmetically nice on street cars. If someone tries to sell you on the whole shorter braking distance you gotta remember,
1. They are TRYING to sell you a product so no one is going to poo poo what they are trying to sell.
2. Brembo DOES NOT make calipers that come with adapters so those recon are mostly from taiwan or some shady place in china.
3. Ask yourself WHERE or WHOM makes all these adapters and you think you can trust them as the only anchor point between the calipers and your car and some random solid object on the road ?

Do your own research and see what fits you. All the best !

Bored and kids were driving me nuts stepping on the rear seats so managed to get a rear seat cover.

Material is pretty good for USD 36 but installation was a bit troublesome as there was practically 0 instructions from china seller (Yay).

Colour of the material is a close match for my Beige seats although pics seems like its mismatched due to lighting but overall was ok with the purchase.

Battery for me is located here for some F10s its located in the right side near the fuse box

Size 10 socket again to remove the Negative battery connector

In the drivers seat locate the small hole at the bottom of the steering wheel. Sometimes its 2 on either side of the steering wheel but for me its at the bottom.

Slide a Flat heat screw driver into it your feeling around for a springy metal piece to push up against. The airbag is spring loaded to pop out but it takes some effort to get it going.

Airbag pops out

Remove various electrical connectors

And you get to the main bolt holding the steering wheel in. Size 15 socket and HUGE muscles required to get this out.

Once out the steering wheel simply slides out. Notice the notch on the steering wheel , you can't put it in wrong.

Slide the new Steering wheel on

Put the bolt back in and reconnect various electrical connectors

Pop in the airbag reconnect the battery and test !

Hi buddy the PSi requirements are on the door sil next to the tyre profile. If in doubt go to a tyre shop and check with them.
DO NOT ask random people on the forum even "experts" have no idea what rim size and profile you are running so any advice is crap.

Thanks man, thanks for the sound advice

New Project coming up. 535i stock front brakes on the 528i.

Bigger pads bigger rotors (348mm vs 330mm) and stainless steel brake hoses and new Zimmerman Z coat sport rotors all around.

Benefits include being able to replace pads and rotors that don't cost an arm and a leg 5 or 6 years down the road.

Before pics of the calipers
