Bro, I tried 95 before and FC sucks. You r better off using 98 and I get 10km/ltr more. Try it n c if you experience the same thing.
Btw, esso is the worse. And worse FC if u r getting 97 from msia. Plus totally no power at all.

Ok... cut the story short. I'm on my 2nd tank and again i pump in RON95 for testing (yes i know RON98 give better mileage, I just wish to try). I used my first tank mileage divided by the Litre I pumped in. The result was 435km / 50.7L = 8.6km/L. Yes i concluded that the dash meter is damn bloodie correct, and yes I'm damn bloodie disappointed :(

Let me try again and see if i can have any improvement....

P.S. my first 300km was on stock 16:" RFT and after that i changed to 225/40/18" breyton.

Hi Stealth,

I totally empathise with you, being an ex EVO driver as well. I am driving an E90 320 as well and compared to my EVO 9, the FC is almost alike and I was doing 8 plus on Shell V Power Racing and I am still doing 8 plus on V Power Racing. Sigh hahaha... perhaps I will experiment on 98 next round and let you know what's the outcome. Ha ha .... by the way, nice to know there is an ex EVO driver here too hahaha cheers :D

No need to use V-Power lah, 98 is good enough.

Hi all,just to share I have just tried using 95 recently n FC is 9 compared to 9.5 when using 98. I'm on 16 inch rims . I felt the power loss but well I guess may change back to 98 next tank.

Ok... some interesting facts here... Drove up to Malaysia 2 weeks ago for supper with wifey. pumped 1/2 tank of 97RON, mixed with my SG 95RON fuel.

Here's the result... travelled about 70% highware / 30% city

503km on my odometer
51.8 Litre pumped (this time on ESSO 98RON)

Result was 9.7km/L.... sounds good but have done lotsa highway... Till then...

Yozzz.. we drove the same car twice! hahahaa!

Anyway... just my 2 cents worth. Stop wasting $ on V-power fuel. It's useless dude.

i was doing alot of highway driving (about 80%) for about 2 weeks due to ICT and was able to get about 11+km/L for both RON95 and RON98.
car was topped up with alternate grades of petrol when low fuel lights come on to try to maintain consistency of my "experiment" on FC for RON95 and RON98 and car FC computer was reset after fuel top up. car computer shows around 8.6 to 8.9 L/100KM which works out to 11+km/L for both types of petrol.

as for which RON give better FC, results are inconclusive.

my ride is E90 LCI 318i on stock 16" rims without RFTs.

Out of curiosity, i would suppose (RFT = run flat tires).

Is there going to be a difference on the fuel consumption between RFT and non-RFT?

FC wise don't think so... comfort wise normal tire are far better than RFT.

use to be on :

18'' M starspokes rims with Bridgestone RFT staggered (F225/45/R18, R255/40/R18 )
FC @ 480km (when reserved lit up) 9.2km/liter
Tire pressure (working temp) F275 R 295
Petrol pump : shell 98 @ 56 - 59liters usage.

now on :

19'' Breyton race GTS with CSC5 staggered (F235/35/R19, R265/30/R19)
FC @ 500-510km (when reserved lit up) 9.4km/liter
Tire pressure (working temp) F285 R305
Petrol pump : shell 98 @ 55 - 57liters usage

same driving lifestyle for both setup (60 highway / 40 city)

My E90 320i is doing 8.3KM/Litre while my friend ride can do a 10.9KM/L

I am on 18" and he is on 17"

Our driving habit is about the same .... Does the rims size play so much difference ?

Type of fuel I guess, but it seems that from 18 - 19 doesn't have much diff


I'm on about 9.0km/l
