Hi Bro,
I have the same problem about 4 months ago and it has been resolved by PML under warranty.
I bought a 2006 E60 from PML Select, which comes with an extended one year warranty. I need to leave the car with them for two days to reprogram the gear box...Gear Management System.
Look for the tester, he is a Filipino. Sorry I forgot his name. He told me this is a common problem found on 3 & 5 series.

Mine does not tuck forward but slight jerkiness when in DS mode. Similiarly bought from pml select recently and after chancing on this thread, sent mine in for a reprogram and now it is silk as silk, FOC because of the extended warranty.

Well done forumers

Time to renew your ATF and replace the atf filter/pan to prolong your gearbox and bring back the silky shifting...

Re: Slight tuck fwd whenever I slow down to stop on a traffic liffic light

just tell them the exact problem. this problem is common and they should be aware of it since many owners has reported. don't accept their lame excuse "this is normal" !

I just told them it jerks. Brought it in o a Sat for road test. at Alexandra. Its not as busy on a Sat so tester has more time to test. Within few mins, tester says yup, need a software reprogram.

They charged me (cant remember how much) to re-program. It should be a recall in US market.

did u ask them the basis for charging given that ur ride is under warranty?

Re: Slight tuck fwd whenever I slow down to stop on a traffic liffic light

maybe i dont own enough BMWs..

my ride is out of warranty, and they said this is a NEWER, MUCH IMPROVED program that will fully UTILISED our current gearbox, thus the need to charge.

also mentioned that the older gearbox are not programmed correctly and might cause premature wear.

i asked if they could do a goodwill on this one, their reply is .. "everyone has to pay for it, even those under warranty as this is out of the warranty terms"

feels so good to own a BMW with such nice service personnel. =D

you paid!?!

we should like boycott this one and make them do it foc!

i cant even imagine how many helpless other drivers or clueless drivers just simply drive, tricked by them to think that its not really a problem or just pay because they are getting a UPGRADE ... which is free in the US.

Re: Slight tuck fwd whenever I slow down to stop on a traffic liffic light

Fu_king %@#& not only for re-programming but actually paid the mother $%#@$% to test drive my car to corfirm that my car jerks when come to stop...

Tried to argue but give up ...imho pointless as its PML's SOP not the working SE problem...

Bring your ride down to BOSS and do a software upgrade will solve this issue if yours is an E90.
Sad to say that the 523i at above 100K mileage, this problem may not be solve even after program upgrade.

My E90 had this problem before and now solve.

Re: Slight tuck fwd whenever I slow down to stop on a traffic liffic light

thanks bro,

mine is e90 320i Pre FL, so hope that it will work. what was the damage like bro.

Thanks

Re: Slight tuck fwd whenever I slow down to stop on a traffic liffic light

If under warranty, you should expect nothing less than getting it fixed at their cost.

If out of warranty, they will ask you to do the works or tell you its normal.

Re: Slight tuck fwd whenever I slow down to stop on a traffic liffic light

I have the same problem with my 320i and a workshop said they need to fix my gearbox at $800 and if it doesn't work then need to recon the valve body and costs $1600 and takes 7 days. Any suggestions pls
