Audere est Facere

* Away 5-1 win at KC against Hull yest nite!!! *

Its a long time since i felt excited abt Spurs. But must be careful not to be too optimistic as season still a along way to go. The big 4 will eventually get their gears moving. It's tough to play them at their home ground. However, if by X'mas we're still in the top 4. Then who knows, CHAMPION League Qualification for SPURS!!!

Whoo Hoo!!! Im in Cloud 9 thinking of that.

:p

Premier League - Chelsea hit with shock transfer ban
Eurosport - Thu, 03 Sep 15:26:00 2009

Chelsea have been banned from registering any new players for the next two transfer windows in a shock move by FIFA after being found guilty of inducing a French teenager to breach his contract with another club.

Gael Kakuta (pictured), 18, joined Chelsea from Lens two years ago after which the French club lodged a complaint with FIFA.

Now FIFA's dispute resolution chamber has ruled that Kakuta breached his contract with Lens and that Chelsea induced him to do so.

They now cannot make any signings until January 2011, while the player has been fined £682,000 and banned for four months.

Chelsea havea right to appeal the decision directly to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland.

FIFA said in a statement: "The French club had lodged a claim with FIFA seeking compensation for breach of contract from the player and requesting also sporting sanctions to be imposed on the player and the English club for breach of contract and inducement to breach of contract respectively.

"The DRC found that the player had indeed breached a contract signed with the French club. Equally, the DRC deemed it to be established that the English club induced the player to such breach.

"As a result the player was condemned to pay compensation in the amount of 780,000 euros (£682,000), for which the club, Chelsea, is jointly and severally liable, and sporting sanctions were imposed on both the player and Chelsea in accordance with art. 17 par. 3 and 4 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.

"A restriction of four months on his eligibility to play in official matches is imposed on the player Gael Kakuta while the club Chelsea is banned from registering any new players, either nationally or internationally, for the two next entire and consecutive registration periods following the notification of the present decision.

"Furthermore, Chelsea, has to pay RC Lens training compensation in the amount of 130,000 euros (£114,000)."

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Perhaps this is intentional to lock in the current squad? Is there any clause on departing players?

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

It says 'banned from registering any new players', so I guess that means current players can leave...

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

The Russian should have his ways.

Else, pull Lampard and Drogba/Anelka away and Chelsea will collapse.....

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Anyway still can appeal. Maybe reduced to one window.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Conspiracy theory: Uefa trying to kerb EPL teams' dominance in Europe? :D

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

The penalty looks too harsh.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

sighh too much under table in football nowadays. first the italian match fixing thing, now this. tsk tsk tsk.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

I think chelsea's squad is quite comprehensive for now, dont see any impact of this ban on their title aspirations. good thing is this may bring down the prices, now if only man city is also banned.

on another note did anyone see wayne rooney's claim to be a honest player?.

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

not being bias but man utd didn't deserve to win that match. arsenal played so much better.

Tell that to the Man Utd players on the field...they will tell you they did not deserve to lose either.

Arsenal played so much better, but never looked like themselves after Man U's equaliser....a draw would have been a fair result..

they never looked themselves after the equaliser, they did not recover. fair? too bad.

there was nothing like Barcelona vs Man Utd in Rome which proved beyond doubt whom was the superior team on the night.

'Never looked like themselves after equaliser' - that's not the hallmark of champions? Chelsea would have stormed back I think.

But well, Arsenal did score two goals that day and MU only one.... lol

saw some news on tv that chelsea might need to explore their youth program...

Re: The Barclays Premiership / Champions League Thread

Isn't that why I used the word "fair"? What I meant is that based on "merit", it should have been a draw, each side had their own bad spells in the match.

Of course I know football is never fair...just look at how Arsenal won the FA cup in 2004
