If the media focus more on e victims and their poor families, I doubt such witch hunting will surface beside few noises.
I've no idea (reserving mho private) too but i think it is this kind of coverage which got many worked up whereby leading to e witch hunt (as totoseow and others stated), me inclusive.Mockngbrd;813724 said:

ya something that cannot be controlled, thats why I said earlier its the beginning of a problematic future when internet heroes decide to come out to be real hero on the streets, this negative sentiment is worrying. At the moment, people in every forum just do it behind pcs hoping to be heard. Gov must really use their eyes, ears and heart to see.

Negativity of keyboard warriors aside and on a positive note, imho I rather they do so than to actually/physically going out to exhibit their unhappiness (right or wrong is dependent on perspective)... I wish not for such a day to surface because when it does, many would rather they have remained as keyboard warriors.

To be honest, I would think that they are like some of us here, a typical employee... We would want to see the results from our work immediately. Most of the things they have implemented in the past few years are solely for their KPIs. Things like upgrading and etc, they would say its for the benefit of future generations and tapped into the past funds (according to prata man)
Thats why the current batch does not command that type of respect from the 1st generation of leaders.

One should not underestimate the influence on the use of social media to incite unhappiness. Last few years there has been alot of pple using social media as a platform to organise mass rally, protests around the world etc. And who down here, can confidently said that Singapore will not have to deal with these issues within this decade?
Human emotion is like a rubberband, stretch too much to one side by force, nature will have the tendency to revert back to the mean, and the band will snap back at the hand who stretches it.

Only know, 2 decades ago was: Poor - Lower Class - Middle Class - Upper Middle Class - Rich - Damn Rich
Now, I think it is something like: Poorer - Poor - Struggling - Middle Class - Rich - Damn Rich (hope can see which class changed to which... of course some Upper Middle became Rich)

Was reading the ST this morning. Browse a few times but cannot find the part which says that the Ferrari driver beat a light. Strange rt? It was in Chinese Newspapers and Forums..with DVR captured pics..etc. ST reported "accident at Rochor Rd and Victoria st junction..." More writeup on the comments made by driver's friend, relatives rather then what actually happened.
So for those who reads only ST...you will have a totally different perspective.
